Anyone have an opinion on the delay
Posted on 1/13/26 at 6:41 am to CarbonAce
I'm not sure what delay you are talking about, but the answer would be "its SLI, Par for the course"
Last I heard FID was January timeframe.

Yeh I'm not sure I'd put us in the 'delay' category yet.
I'm just ready for a 10% day to get us out of this fight with $5.

Why is this not essentially indexed to futures for lithium carbonate? Those have almost tripled in 6 months and show no signs of slowing down

When we get closer to production it should be more closely tied to the lithium market. Right now it's still tied to the hopium market. FID and groundbreaking should fix that.

Kind of strange that they’re drilling test wells and applying for permits yet the market still sees them as speculative
Side note: if anyone associated with SLI reads this, I still have 1/2 interest in 2,400 acres in Titus county and 3/4 interest in 1250 acres in Franklin county that’s unleased and within a mile of your plat boundary. Dm me if interested

I mean....you're aware that SLI has tripled in the last 6 months, yes?

IMHO, the test wells also serve the purpose of illustrating lease value to potential buyout candidates.

This!
On offtake + financing progress
“Looking forward from the SWA Arkansas project, we’ve been working for the last 9 months or so with an advisor helping us put in place our offtake agreements and our debt project financing.
We are in very short order going to be able to announce our letters of intent for our debt financing package.
So that looks very good. I was hoping to be able to say something today. I can't, but we're close (chuckles).”
That was from Dec 5th

Bad news, per the permitting dashboard the timelines on the federal environmental assessment have been pushed back. Date of completion was pushed from 1/14 to 3/27.

Meh...if there weren't delays, I'd start to suspect that something is wrong.

Anyone have any idea if the completion of the environmental assessment is required before FID? I assume that’s the case, but really have no idea.

I dont think it is. This is not a high stakes assessment.
If SLI had not gotten a federal grant, the project would not meet the requirements to need an environmental assessment from the government.

This. Free money isn't free. Just some extra red tape to bust through.

Looks like we've got a nasty day in the lithium sector on deck.
May be back under $5.
