re: Diving deeper on Standard Lithium?

Not interested in a pissing match, but is the word "scam" being used a bit harshly here?
I concede the point. But when this company gets beaten to DLE production by IBATF, whose office might as well be in a shipping container, I get really tired of hearing the term "leading near term commercial company"
They may be slow rolling it. The CEO may also be letting SP slide so his old outfit can take it private for a bargain.
I have no doubts on their tech or scalability. I do have doubts that any long holders will be properly rewarded for our patience.

Up almost 10% premarket. Any news?

CATL suspended one of its lithium mines causing approximately a 8% cut in the supply of lithium from China.

That's not organic, but I'll take it anyway we can get it.

“So you’re saying you dump all of your waste and send it into the aquifer?”

New interview with Equinor and Standard. This is the first mention of Europe that I'm aware of, and they do it several times.
Equinor’s Lisa Rebora
16:05 “[Standard and Equinor] have demonstrated that this DLE technology will give us the commercial scale that we need going forward and I say commercial scale but I also mean industrial scale because we are really building out what will become a new domestic supply chain in the North Americas and in Europe which is where it's really needed most. There's a lot of dependence and there's a lot of need to kind of onshore resources and there's a lot of customers in those countries-car manufacturers, battery makers-who are really looking for sustainable on shored mineral supplies.”
Standard’s Andy Robinson
17:56 “We have a large demonstration facility where we've dealt with real brine in real time and we've figured out how to run this
direct lithium extraction technology with this shared vision of building a sustainable lithium supply ecosystem for North America and Europe. These very large, very high quality, broadly unconventional resources need this technology to be applied to them to develop this lithium chemical ecosystem for electrification in North America and Europe.”
21:37 “...entered into this partnership with Equinor so that we can start to deliver a real supply of lithium chemicals into the North American and the European battery ecosystem. That supply right now doesn't really exist; it comes from other parts of the world. The methods of producing that lithium in some cases are not the most sustainable and so we think this solution with these assets with this technology and this partnership really is a new and better way of bringing lithium chemicals into that energy transition story.”

Well, the formal royalty objection was submitted. The 6 objections listed:
3 objections that seem valid:
1. None of the 5 applicants has proven the "profitable extraction" part, and Standard's attorney has already conceded that it needs to happen before a royalty can be decided. Standard couldn't prove that agreement in December since the commission wanted their brine agreement with Lanxess to make that determination. Standard argued that they couldn't provide it since it's confidential (if it was even ready then).
2. They're also trying to kick Albemarle off the application since they have a different kind of pooling situation. I don't know how it works, but I remember that their special "voluntary pooling" situation is what allowed them to get lithium pilot approval without being subject to the production reporting requirements that Standard has been for all this time. So Albemarle and Standard are clearly different in this way.
3. In December, the commission asked both parties to provide copies of the best existing paid-up lithium leases from the area that they could find. The objectors have found some of those 10% leases that SmackoverHawg had heard about:
I'm not a lawyer, but after reading these objections I don't see how a favorable decision comes this month. Anyone see it differently?

Those per acre lease rates seem high. Especially with a 10% royalty on the refined product. Raw brine still isn't worth that much.

I say frick'em and start production in Texas. That brine act was enacted in 1979. I'd just assume they get jack shite. There are more SLI shareholders in AR than there are landowners. There's reasons why we can't have nice shite.
Maybe the lithium companies are bluffing and it will still be profitable, but I'm tired of this shite and a few dipshits standing in the way of progress like every other mf'ing thing ever down here.

Read this on Arkansas Buisiness Daily News today
Despite Reynolds' point, he said that Arkansas law gives the state Oil & Gas Commission the duty of setting royalties on elements like bromine or lithium found in underground brine.
The commissioners will take up the topic at their meeting Sept. 24 in El Dorado.
IN THIS STORY
lithium, lithium royalties, Oil & Gas
Commission, Robert Reynolds, Shuler Drilling,
Answers my question from a few days ago!

I charted SWA's development timeline up to now.
Robinson wouldn't say which half of 2025 he expects the SWA DFS to be ready, so I'm assuming EOY.
Between the current investor presentation and Joe Lowry's podcast, where he explicitly asked if Phase 1A is still first, they won't publicly commit to Phase 1A being first anymore. And if Phase 1A isn't first, we probably have > a year before needing an Arkansas royalty. With Equinor's cost carry, Standard will be fine for that year. Share price probably stays depressed, but who knows what the East Texas resource announcement will do for that

Still refuses. I can't even get excited for the +15% days because I know it's just going to bleed right back to the 1.10-1.15 range no matter what.

CNBC just put out a video I saw in Linkedin about SLI, they were in Arkansas this week or last

Anyone have thoughts one way or another if royalty will be set next Tuesday or if it will be pushed off? Also, thoughts on will it move stock price one way or the other based on if it is set or not? Almost seems as if its just not moving until royalty is set and off-take is happening?
Posted on 9/17/24 at 10:40 pm to CarbonAce
I think they announce Thursday. They've had plenty of time to consider all sides. Arkansas is losing tons of revenue by impersonating Mintak.

The royalty decision has been delayed. Sounds like the next step is "resolving procedural issues and clarifications."
