Rivers? Not even close. Z is sane.

Milehigh? I liked MH. I picked at him and he gave it back to me, but I really enjoyed his posts. Frankly, I miss him. I even petitioned Chicken to release MH and his brother, Colonel Hap, from purgatory but Chicken explained the facts to me.

If you would like to email a brief summary of the facts, I wouldn't be opposed.

I've always wondered the facts myself....out of the loop ...lsucity-1@yahoo.com

Buy $80,000 worth of MVIS and then try to sell it and see what it does to the price both times. Then buy $80,000 worth of CMI and see what happens to the price....NOTHING.

right, but that was not your point earlier...yo udon't want me to quote you and I won't, unlike you digging up my old post with your 20 20 hindsight ...besides, this isn't a good reason not to invest in a company ... I could offload 32000 shares strategically enough to not really move the price...it's not THAT thinly traded

So what was the deal, they post homo porn on TD.com or something?

I see a bid/ask spread of 10 cents at close on MVIS, what does the typical fill price execute at? I hope it is not close to 4% haircut each buy, that is just crazy.

Cliff Notes?

quote:

Exxon Mobil Corp., led by natural-gas projects, added two billion barrels of oil equivalent to its proved reserves in 2009, replacing 133% of its production that year. The oil giant, however, found fewer new oil deposits than it depleted last year.

the great Russian doesn't understand that the price of a stock is mostly irrelevant... I give you this gem :

quote:

Say Z owns five thousand shares of MVIS. He's up $600 today.

Say I own 800 shares of CMI (hypothetically, of course). I'm up over $1,000 today.

Let me see....$600 or $1,000, which is better? Hmmmm....I think I'll go with the $1,000.

Seriously, I used to strive for % gains until one day I realized I wasn't making much money. But I could boast about the percent my stocks went up! Now I go for the $$$$.

Pfffftttt! According to my Schwab trading screen, it closed after hours trading with a spread of 2.18 - 3.57.

Nothing like a 50% spread between bid and ask prices.
