I’m chilling, today was nothing but put selling and 0DTE call chasers. Probably rug pulls on GDP PCE tomorrow

I never ever trade options on individual stocks but I made an exception because of this thread and bought NVDA calls on Friday and then again Monday morning when it went down.
Unfortunately I’m a pussy so I got nervous and set a stop loss. Took a 20% loss on a trade I’d be up 200% on two days later. Fml

There is nothing worse than being directionally right on a trade but bailing too early.

Well, yeah there is. Being directionally wrong on a trade where you’ve got naked short options (especially the naked calls on a short strangle). Remember that ending scene from Trading Places, where the brothers are in a panic trying to close their positions? I have felt their pain before.

I got one better (or worse). Selling call spreads that expire between legs at expiry. That’s how I wound up short 1k shares of UPST at 220 with no hedge for a weekend. Weaseled out in premarket for small gain.
Also obligatory RIP NVDA bulls in this thread who think fundamentals matter in this market. Great field data to suggest we made a top.

If I remember correctly, you had a long put on NVDA for October expiration with a 465 strike? Still holding?
Posted on 9/24/23 at 7:56 am to Jag_Warrior
Yep. Same with LLY 1/19/24, SOXS shares, etc. I’ve trimmed most of my short position last week on that move. Next week determines how we end the year imo. Stay weak with another hard flush and I’ll add. Bounce and push hard I’m flipping long into year end for a final Jan 24 blowoff top at ATH before the final rug pull Jan 17, 2024.

So here we are Q3 earnings due today.
Stock currently at $495 ish.
For fun, here is the most unbelievably ridiculous stock predictor on this beast that I have ever seen.
Long-Term NVIDIA Stock Price Predictions
Based on the average yearly growth of the NVIDIA stock in the last 10 years, the NVIDIA stock forecast for the beginning of next year is $ 801.86. Using the same basis, here is the NVIDIA stock prediction for each year up until 2030.
Year Prediction Change
2024 $ 801.86 61.99%
2025 $ 1,298.96 162.42%
2026 $ 2,104.25 325.11%
2027 $ 3,408.77 588.65%
2028 $ 5,522.02 1,015.58%
2029 $ 8,945.36 1,707.18%
2030 $ 14,491 2,827.53%
The NVIDIA stock prediction for 2025 is currently $ 1,298.96, assuming that NVIDIA shares will continue growing at the average yearly rate as they did in the last 10 years. This would represent a 162.42% increase in the NVDA stock price.

WOW!
They beat expectations and the expectations were galactic.
On a year-over-year basis, Nvidia earnings rocketed 593%, while sales soared 206%.
“Here's how the company did, compared to the consensus among analysts surveyed by LSEG, formerly known as Refinitiv:
Earnings: $4.02 per share, adjusted, vs. $3.37 per share expected
Revenue: $18.12 billion, vs. $16.18 billion expected
Nvidia's revenue grew 206% year over year during the quarter ending Oct. 29, according to a statement. Net income, at $9.24 billion, or $3.71 per share, was up from $680 million, or 27 cents per share, in the same quarter a year ago.”
That last line says it all. $9.24 billion versus $680mil a year ago!
If you don’t own NVDA, ask yourself why not?
It’s simply the best chip making/AI combo on the planet
One caveat- future projections are being tempered by the governmental restrictions on them selling to China.

I agree. I recently liquidated every individual stock I owned (didn't touch mutual funds) except NVDA, to make a large real estate investment. The numbers say the ride will continue for a while. I have an account for each of my grandkids that is split between s&p500 and NVDA. That shows my confidence in this one.

I just bought 15k worth of it. Hate getting in at ATH but seems like there's more to run. Already up $3
