Be prepared for group think and don't you dare challenge the norm with a different opinion. People don't like negative views on an investment that have made so there are some edgy reactions
ETA: The Joey vs the group discussions are really entertaining =

Lol is Joey a contrarian or a lambo coin pumper?
Posted on 1/7/18 at 11:52 am to rocket31
Nah... I didn't read all of the Joey stuff, just like I didn't read all of the arguing on taxes now.
Just like the rant, a few people with different opinions going at each other.

Joey is a numbers guy, points out that alts like TRX are stupidly overvalued. Points out that the fundamentals of certain alts pumping with no product is ludicrous. Points out that ETH should be the cornerstone of a portfolio. Points out that this alt euphoria won't continue forever and that people need to proceed with caution rather than going all in.... the group doesn't like those things.

I agree...I show support him when I can but there are only a few of us who agree with him

Ya the monkey dart era of alts will not last forever
Posted on 1/7/18 at 11:59 am to TigerTatorTots
Well bo alt euphoria won't continue, eventually a few will rise. Key is to make money on the ones you can. Nothing good will last forever and maybe it was the way he was wording it but some of how it was typed read like he expected it soon. Which I don't agree with, I think alts boom throughout the year as people learn more about them.

Ex-Iced Tea Maker Long Blockchain Is Buying Bitcoin Miners Now
I made a quick $1200 off of this stupid shite a few weeks ago when they announced the change. It's just so bizarre, though.
a comment I read about this FWIW
quote:
According to a filing with the Securities Exchange Commission on Jan. 5, Long Blockchain Corp, the publicly traded company that was rebranded from Long Island Iced Tea, is in the process of purchasing 1,000 units of AntMiner S9 manufactured by the China-based Bitmain.
quote:
Further, the purchase price will be $4.2 million, which includes $2.9 million cash as well as an issuance of 260,000 shares of Long Blockchain's common stock. It is not clear from the filing whether Long Blockchain is buying the equipment directly from Bitmain or from a third party.

1000 s9 is 14,000THs of pure mining, if price stays the same the whole year, thats $9M-$11M in coins.

Aren’t those machines are tough to value because they go out of date so fast ?

the specs on the new miners coming down the pipe arent a huge jump from these. Does more in the way of power effeciency.
However you cut it, 14kTH is alot of horsepower

So what alt should I look at first?

Exactly what I was going to suggest

Not those machines. The GPU based machines are the ones that the ROI can be tough to actually determine.
