I have a limit order set for if it sees $1.06 again. I’m fine if it never fills

If we get over $2 the question will be to hold on or sell a portion to try and rebuy later. I don’t know if it’ll hold over $2 given the action and no real news pending.

Of course the day after I do that they’ll announce the DoD will be using graphine to repaint all of our military equipment.

Congrats to yall for buying the dip. I was too stupid but should have sold some others to buy more at $1.10

I don’t think we’ll see that again

Sold 1,500 at 1.59
Bought 1,600 at 1.46

It has rejected 1.60 twice now. Maybe third time is the charm.

If I'm not mistaken, we had a brief discussion on Stocktwits relating to a penny stock (that I think is domiciled in Canada) which fairly recently flipped its busness from food to AI and crypto. We concluded it wasn't a good stock to buy. This was about a couple of weeks ago. I had initiated the discussion by sending you a link to the Company's website and its corporate deck. By the way it's getting hammered today. LINK

All the Best to you!

Probably a true pump and dump from the way it sounded.

So are those shorts paying 56% while they hold waiting to rebuy at a lower amount? How does that work? Is there a time horizon for keeping that open?

They’ll have to close those positions eventually at that rate, right.

ETA:

Google AI: does margin interest for shorting vary by stock?

quote:

Yes, margin interest for shorting a stock varies by stock, with more popular or illiquid stocks having higher "cost to borrow" fees and interest rates compared to liquid ones. Brokers set these rates, and they can fluctuate based on the demand and supply for borrowing shares, how hard it is to find the specific stock, and its perceived risk. Therefore, a stock that is difficult to find or is in high demand to be shorted will generally have a higher cos

How long do short sellers have to cover?

quote:

Short sellers do not have a set time limit to cover their positions; the duration depends on factors like the lender's request for the shares, margin calls from the broker, or the short seller's own strategy and risk tolerance. The lender of the shares can demand them back at any time with little notice, but this is rare. Brokers can force a short position to be closed if the stock's price rises significantly, leading to large losses and unmet margin calls

Based on above getting on the short bandwagon with a small illiquid stock can lead to much pain.

ETA2: this isn’t my gig but from what I’ve been able to glean, high borrow rates, high short interest, low availability and reduced volume are signs a short squeeze could be incoming as the shorters need to cover their positions.

Gird thy loins.

Yes it is annualized.

The numbers are crazy - and I wonder if something has changed behind the scenes with Fidelity. My shares have not been lent for a week or so - I wonder if fidelity no longer lends on these.

You cannot opt out on the website (I tried) - you have call and go through hoops etc... but I am just surprised.

FWIW, mine aren't lent out on Schwab either.

I called two days ago and asked them about it. Took him a bit to answer, but finally came back and said "the trader said that there just wasn't that much demand for it, but we would see what we could do to get them lent out"

Anywho, they weren't lent out yesterday and aren't today either. I'm not calling them back as I'm okay with what they do either way for now.

Based on my limited knowledge, anything above 30% short interest marks a potential danger zone for shorts.

This is why I have current skepticism on whether the short position is as extreme as those x posts state - I mean I hope it is for the velocity when they close but not important to the end game
