In the market for a new (to me) car.

Any feedback on 3 -4 year old used vehicles? Wait?

Funny you say that. Am leaning toward a 3-4 year old Lexus. ES 350

If you need one, you might not be able to wait. My experience was terrible and I struggled finding anything good for a decent price. I feel like I lucked out getting a Certified 2019 Honda Civic with 5K miles for $23k at a Honda dealership.

I don’t necessarily need one. My car is 10 years old with 120K miles. Time to upgrade to some updated safety features.

Used car prices are going down, 5% in last 3 months roughly...but they are still definitely overinflated quite a bit. But the good news is the market is crumbling even if it's a bit slower than it inflated...who knows when the right time to buy will be, could be months, could be another year, maybe it's not till 2024, but things are going back in the right direction.

According to blackbook wholesale prices have crumbled 1% a week since June. I think people will find that while retail prices haven't moved much, trade in values have plummeted. If you have to buy today, I think there is zero reason to pay any dealer markup. If anything you should be able to negotiate especially as we head towards end of year

I might have to. Having trouble finding what I want at decent price locally. Anything I’d pull the trigger on is hours away in Houston or Dallas.

Hoping to catch one close to year end they want to sell and not pay taxes on.

Used car prices are insanely high right now. My daughter's car was totaled recently, no serious injuries thankfully. The same make, model, year etc with roughly same mileage are selling for more than what I paid for it in 2016. Double-edged sword.

I’m about to get my wife one. I’m worried that if we wait and the market crashes more that we’ll get upside down on her loan. So I figure it’s best to bite the bullet now while we can still make money off of the trade-in.

just traded in a 17 for a 19

got 3k less than paid for the 17 on trade. overpaid for the 19 slightly because it was absolutely loaded for a full size SUV.

Whats going to kill you right now is interest rates on used cars are 7% or worse.

I fenagled a line of credit with my bank for much less but since it was a business vehicle they worked with me.

We got 2 new rides in 2019. Never been happier. Hated getting 2 cars in the same year but it's been a blessing. Sometimes better to be lucky than good
