Red Sox surprised Graterol was more likely to be reliever in 2020. Maybe they should have Googled:
After Brusdar Graterol's first impression, team aims him at relief role

Blockbuster update: Red Sox viewed Brusdar Graterol's medicals and "projected him more as a reliever than a starter," per @Ken_Rosenthal. Sox might ask for additional player or money.
Teams "confident the deal will be completed, but perhaps not in its original reported form."
Red Sox are a joke, the trade is held up because they view the kid from the Twins more as a reliever than starter. Literally every report had him as a RP.

Ken Rosenthal

Infielder Max Muncy in agreement with #Dodgers on three-year, $26M extension, sources tell The Athletic. Deal also includes a $13.5M option for a fourth year or $1.5M buyout.

Mets deal is dead, completely kaput. MLB doesn’t blame the Mets, who are expected to open up the sale in a more typical auction now. Also, after what happened here, belief is Stevie Cohen, despite his reported $13B, will have trouble ever buying any team.

Probably because he’s a criminal

The Mookie Betts/David Price #RedSox-#Dodgers trade is expected to finally become official today, the teams say, which means the Joc Pederson/Ross Stripling trade from the Dodgers LA to the #Angels becomes official as well.

Andy pages is a tough piece to lose

Dodgers should give up more

Red Sox are still seeking a top-10 #MNTwins prospect in addition to Graterol. Thus far, Twins are saying no. #Mookie

Dodgers will have to give up more to save this deal.

I'm thinking it will take that to save the deal, possibly another prospect in the 7-15 range from the Dodgers
Posted on 2/7/20 at 4:58 pm to tduecen
Then the deal falls apart and the entire world would know it's the red Sox's fault
Posted on 2/7/20 at 5:22 pm to WestCoastAg
Well yeah, they're the only franchise that saw the guy from the Twins as a starter. However, the Dodgers don't want it falling apart either and may have no issue giving up another prospect outside of their top 5
Posted on 2/7/20 at 5:25 pm to tduecen
we would have issue with that. why wouldnt we?
Posted on 2/7/20 at 5:27 pm to WestCoastAg
Because at the end of the day it is a prospect and outside their untouchable list. Rather give up a prospect than have a deal fall apart l, especially one of this magnitude
Posted on 2/7/20 at 5:28 pm to tduecen
and at the end of the day, the red sox are trying to squeeze more out of this trade through absolute and total bullshite. so frick them. our piece isnt whats causing the hold up. talk to the twins, not us

Yeah but the Dodgers have enough MLB players involved they want to see this through as well. While the Red Sox are pressuring the Twins the Dodgers can make this disappear and make it final.
The Dodgers got off light for Mookie and Price with just Verdugo. (I know other parts are moving but a lot of that is salary dump)
