Verdugo put up 2.2 WAR at 23 years old in 2019.
Kelly was 24 when he was traded and had put up -0.9 WAR in 131 plate appearances.

Verdugo is easily the better trade chip.

Three different NL folks today predicted Betts-to-L.A. is "inevitable." Consensus deal:Alex Verdugo, Inf Jeter Downs, pitcher, maybe A prospect. Think P is LH Caleb Ferguson, 95 MPH FB/CB guy, 113-39 K-BB in 93.1 IP, eventual starter. Got brushed off Gray

this is a crazy high price

Agreed.

Jeter Downs will be a quality starting 2B and Caleb Ferguson is just starting to scratch the surface of his potential. I saw him pitch at High A Rancho Cucamonga and knew he was going to be a big league pitcher. I hope Gammons is wrong

Yeah, the ads are hideous. I would never buy one if there are ads.

Dodgers farm craps out a ROY candidate every year

They'll probably be alright

If I was a GM of a team like the Mariners or Orioles I’d be doing whatever I could to poach as many of the Dodgers scouts as I could.

Ken Rosenthal this morning said that it's no longer a matter of if the Red Sox will trade Mookie Betts, but when and where.

Says the Dodgers are the favorites because they can make a "cleaner" deal (i.e. the Red Sox wouldn't have to take back Wil Myers), but the Padres are pushing and things are "fluid".

Multiple people close to situation believe resolution on Mookie Betts trade is imminent. (Perspective: some of same people believed similarly last week.) FWIW, feeling now is it happens today/tomorrow.
If favorite exists, it seems to be #Dodgers. But #Padres still engaged.

The fact they aren’t being investigated is a complete joke.

Agreed
It gets me very triggered that people hold them/that shite hole so highly

We’re ready to complete this blockbuster trade with millions of dollars at stake but we gotta do our squares and watch the big game

they actually bet all the money on the color of the gatorade.
They picked purple and lost. So trade is off.
