Iowa was body blowing Kentucky in the first half but it wasn't paying off. 112 degrees on the field and all those run plays are starting to pay off.
Iowa D kept them in the game too. It could have gotten ugly early.

We're down to 3rd string on the OL and I think we only have one scholarship LB left between the 8 player out coming in and the other 5 that have gone down since the game started. And it shows.

Iowa's top RB opted out too. I could argue that benefited Iowa in this game as we put in our "thunder" backs and it's been a physical, punishing running game type of day.
