Monfils looks absolutely gassed. He looked like this against Fritz too though and pulled it out
Edit: Monfils bows out after getting broke in the 4th. He was shot. Good stuff from Shelton to get the crowd to give it up for him. Seems like that was probably his last AO if not his last slam

Monfils has always had as much talent as anyone, but never put in the work to be a great player. He is entertaining to watch, but his lack of grit made me think he could never win a Slam.

Will be interesting to see if the Sinner medical issue persists ,…..he cannot do that again and stay in the AO as he goes farther in the draw. A seasoned veteran like DeMinaur will grind him down if he sees Sinner struggling physically.
