can we please have a mandatory amount of color for the livery? it's really hard to tell these cars apart when they're all mostly carbon for weight.

Hit that subscribe button. I don’t love the bottom sticky either but I see a notification every time yall post.
Maybe I'm slow, but I did this, and it alerts me, but when I click on the alert it takes me to a post of yours on page 2. I wish I could find the way to take me to the last page I read instead.

He had me right until he used the term "sustainable"

First and only thing he’s said/done that I agree with.

If the engine goes suck-squeeze-bang-blow, who cares what type of fuel it is?

They could run on methanol
Posted on 2/21/25 at 8:40 am to FightinTigersDammit
Please make that happen.

Running on a "sustainable" fuel is supposedly their way of getting away from hybrid systems and back to pure ICE without being accused of going backwards. People would be thrilled if the car companies saw ICE as the future, with sustainable, low-emission fuels. The top racing series only use hybrids because the car companies demand it.

I get it, and I agree.
I just hate the fricking jargon.

Totally oddball thing for Tom to say, for obvious reasons. Alonso is still near the top of his game.
But also because Tom is an active racer and he is 52 years old.
I thought I was following Tom on twitter, but it turns out I am following his twin brother Tim.
So here's another weird thing. Tom and Tim are twin brothers, but according to Google they were born a month apart.

Indycars have run on sustainable fuel since 1965.

My hope would be that sustainable fuels may necessitate refueling during races. I'm ignorant on the efficiency of the fuel types they're looking at and if 110 kg could last a race without battery assistance. We know the current E10 gasoline would not make it without the hybrid system.
Fuel strategy is so much fun because you never know. Did they go low to gain time at the start? Full to go long? Is that pit crew member on fire or is it just a swarm of bees around them?

Yeah, there was a lot more strategy when they were doing refueling.
The sound alone is why they should go back.

Isn't that guy just another driver in a different series entirely? Who gives a frick what a random driver in some other series says? No?
