They probably would be. Theyre really good. But theyre also playing considerably worse competition, I think everybody in college football recognizes that. Parity has lowered the overall average skill level of teams rather than brought everybody up the level that we saw in the past. I think LSU wins, potentially in a similar fashion that they won against 2019 Bama.

2019 was a different era of CFP… pre portal, pre NIL, pre covid… it’s no longer an apples to apples comparison for any team post covid.

Indiana has a bunch of 3 stars. It’s not like they’re out spending the usual top teams.

Theyre a phenomenally coached team 100%. But also theyre beating teams which arent performing up to the level that they did pre NIL and portal. The mean now is lower than it was then and thats apparent.

A 3 point win vs unranked Penn State and a 5 point win vs unranked Iowa kills any discussion of 1995 Nebraska vs 2025 Indiana.

How about we wait till they actually win or lose the national championship first?

This Indiana team is unreal. Far superior to 2019 LSU or 2020 Bama.

Lol at people still debating this.

There is nothing to debate....IU is the only 16-0 team in history. To accomplish something like that in the NIL era where it is 10x more competitive with more parity trumps anything LSU ever did.

All of those SEC natty winners pre NIL had it easy just stockpiling depth and hoarding 5 stars...no actual coaching or development took place back then compared to what were seeing with IU.

IU is the greatest team in history.

What say you after Miami upsets Indiana tonight? Are you still going to say they're the best after the game tonight? LSU's team. Nobody even came close to being in a game with them other than Auburn

A team that couldn't beat smu or lousiville isnt going to beat a 15-0 team blowing out everyone in the playoffs man.

Why is this so hard to figure out?

During the regular season this year, how many ranked teams did IU beat?

Compare just the two gump teams.

2019 Alabama was exponentially better than this years squad.

These two schedules, despite the rankings, are not even comparable in terms of on field ability.

You may say that Indiana could become the most accomplished, but 2019 LSU beats the shite out of them on the field.

2025 Indiana equates to 2019 Oklahoma imho.
