Doesn't really matter to me but be rest assured ppl would still bitch about it. There's a reason it went away
If they would go back to the actual original and make it literally 20 laps and pole winners only it would help but I don't think sponsors and tv will ever go for it

I didn't get to watch the Clash although I meant to.
Looks like I'm glad I didn't.
Average speed of 29.1 MPH, is that right? Ouch.
As another poster said, bring the Clash back to Daytona. People will watch Superspeedway races when they won't watch any other race.

It was more like a thrash.
The Daytona clash can be boring if they use super speedway because teams don’t want to wreck a car so early. But the Daytona road course works just fine.
The Clash was designed to be a filler exhibition race between Rolex and D500. But leadership has slowly ruined it. I do like they are trying by using Bowman Gray but the weather hurt it.
And the decisions they make ruin momentum heading into season. Like the free fuel stop it should have been an option and if you fuel you go to the back. Instead they gave spots back which hurt teams who put more fuel in to start (and sacrificed speed). Then they should have changed to a time end race so Fox could have showed ending. But they dicked around and didn’t.
About every problem can be traced to leadership of series. And once it got wet just immediately change tires and go green. Tell drivers if you wreck someone you are out - but its ok to bump and move them as long as you don’t wreck them.
Anyways, the drivers gave a good race until it rained/sleeted/snowed. Then Nascar decision makers plus Fox decision makers ruined it.

I mean they were wrecking an awful lot of them for that to be the issue (granted IIRC they were really only wrecking them towards the end of the race)
I'd also be totally fine with Daytona Roac course

Listen man, it’s a huge bummer as to what Daytona has become in its current state
Last I checked they still haven’t sold out (for a track that seats 100k, down from 175k+) of reserved seating
The current aero package blows and requires very little skill. Nobody wants to watch guys fuel save for 90% of the race.
The mystique and aura has been lost .
Seems like everyone is more hyped for the Rolex 24 nowadays than the Daytona 500

I forgot about that commercial.
The guy at the end throwing a snowball at Tony's car.

Are they qualifying the front row today?

I reckon you are a fan because you believe it checks a box related to your identity , rather than as an ardent fan of Motorsport

62 years ago today, Bay Darnell spun and ended up in Lake Lloyd during a qualifying race for the 1964 ARCA 250 @ Daytona.
