30 for 30 died when Bill Simmons left ESPN
Not totally but was on it's last legs. When Connor Schell left it really died.
Who could possibly think think this deepfake idea was smart?

This is terrible. The deep fake stuff is totally unnecessary and distracting.

Some thing I read said they did it because of the pandemic but I don't know why they couldn't just get a solo narrator in a booth all alone. I guess that could be boring but it's not off-putting like these pinhead deepfakes.

I couldn't get through 15 minutes of this. The hologram shite was just an abomination. How did they not learn that the fake character was a horrendous practice from the Jimmy The Greek doc they did years ago.
Juts use the archival footage. I don't get it. Hard to imagine how far this entire series has fallen.
They go from The 2 Escobars and Pony Excess and The U to this utter garbage in about a decade. Unreal.
Docs also need to stop doing the animation trope. It was terrible in the Ric Flair doc and it's terrible still.

Not a fan of how this is presented with the fakes. Just have a god damn narrator.
I tried to watch...but the fakes sucked.

It was like watching fake coaches on career mode in Madden. It was weird and unnecessary for a documentary that I learned a lot of new info about the Raiders moves to LA and then back to Oakland.

Clearly the deep fake stuff was awful and most of the documentary was common knowledge for football fans but the whole part about the planted juror will always be fascinating.

And didn't they already cover this topic in the 83 draft 30 for 30?

Only in the sense that Al was too distracted by the lawsuits and moving to realize Marino was probably his dream QB.

Al was MAGA before MAGA. He took on the swamp called the nfl.

Davis reminded me of an Italian Family Crime Boss with his thick Brooklyn accent. I didn’t know he was Jewish until watching the 30 For 30 but makes perfect sense.

He was always a colorful owner. The press conference of him firing Kiffin was funny. I like how he wasn't so formal like every other owner who always had to wear a suit and tie. frick that. He was always going to be himself, and didn't care what anyone else thought.

Turned it off the second that fake Al Davis started telling his story...did they think people would like this better?

My brother worked at a restaurant in Denver in the 90s that Davis would frequent when the Raiders played Denver.
This is EXACTLY how he described Al coming into restaurant with his “cronies”!
