Ben Franklin usually has a pretty good team, not on Jesuit or BM's level, but pretty damn consistent.

As a fellow WM alum, you're an idiot if you think soccer isn't a sport. Coach Barron knows what he is doing. I'd go so far as to say that soccer plays are in better shape than football plays.
Eta: if Quidditch can be recognized as a sport, then soccer has to be a sport.

Most high schools don't play these sports
Show me a high school that doesn't have a track/cross country team.
I would bet you find more 5A schools with volleyball than soccer.
I would think if you are going to have a list for "major" sports, if you include soccer, you have to include track.

If Lafayette High could play football, we'd frick this list up

i used the four major boys' team sports (football, soccer, baseball, basketball)
Gay. There are only 3 major HS sports in the US.

That knocks my alma mater down substantially

They also recruit and use playground systems and soccer clubs as a farm system for themselves.

and public schools can't?
Not nearly as easily because of school zoning restrictions for districts. Private school kids can live anywhere and go to that school. (not to say that public school kids don't enroll under false addresses, but its much easier for private schools)

Add swimming and wrestling to the list and the Jesbians and are in a league of their own
