Are bench players allowed to step onto the court like that? Seemed like ASUs entire bench was on the court before Francis called a timeout.

They give you some grace on that call unless it's leaving for a fight.

Fair. Especially given the circumstances. Would have been interesting if Francis would have inbounded the ball straight away.
Admittedly, I was hoping the ref would give them a technical for it just to add to the shenanigans.

That’s great it worked out but there has to be a higher probability play than a full court heave with 3.4 seconds left

A little bit of a risky play in a tie game. If the inbounded overthrows everyone and the ball goes OB, St. Francis would have been inbounding with 3.4 left from under their own goal
