They've been working the B/C and lower classes behind the scenes for quite sometime and are directly responsible for the impending implosion.. It all goes back to the stupidity of one school, one vote regardless of size and class B/C voting in football related matters that have led this train wreck.

How did they throw sand in their face specifically?

So you think the only reason the B and C schools voted the way they did is because of 2 principals?

Clyde Briley the retired principal at Class B Midland was on a mission to split back in the 90s. It was all related to the shenanigans pulled by Timmy Byrd at Reserve Christian. Briley still holds a lot of power and the issues facing Class B and C continued long past the demise of RCS.
That sentiment fueled the divisiveness in the smaller classes and the "unspoken" threat to dissolve B and C and make them all one class pushed them over the edge.

They have no dog in the fight with football. But the public class B and C schools were heavily influenced by those two and the Winnfield principal

I think the threat to dissolve them was the tipping point..

Dissolving B and C has been an implied threat for three years and has kept them voting in line with the split crowd

It's a given the private schools are leaving. What's the point of staying in the LHSAA? They are essentially bringing us back into the 60's with this split. It wasn't that there were not rules against recruiting but that the LHSAA never enforced the damn rules. But the public schools are so sure the privates won't leave the LHSAA. Hmm

What schools need the privates ? I don't think any public school needs a private school to fund anything. They just need you to pay taxes. Sure maybe in S La a private may bring a lot of gate to a poor public but ur talking minor amounts. at the end of the day tax payers are picking up the expenses for the public schools sports program. North LA totally different the bank rolls of some of the programs is insane.

I hope the split principals look our kids in the face and tell them why they voted the way they did, knowing that they very well may be responsible for us not playing our rival again after this upcoming season...

If they are in the same district, won't they have to play each other this year?

no... Chalmette and HC are in different classes

Why are the Private school people complaining in this thread? Is it because now they have to play other Privates and not Publics? Seems like they don't want to play other Privates either?? Irony?
Also Privates talk abt all the money they generate, well now they can keep it all to themselves once Playoffs start.

We're both 5A, but in different districts... don't think anyone is going anywhere this year due to football game contracts, but '17 and on is in question

You underestimate the impact of this on all the NOLA/Jefferson parish publics that draw nobody to their games. The northshore and river parishes will be fine but I enjoyed the Hahnville games vs Rummel and Jesuit; great competition and they bring fans with them. Hopefully some of these type games would still happen.

This is all because of that worthless bitch in Winnfield crying about getting stomped by John Curtis.

Once again, it's not about the principal from Winnfield, Many or Clyde Briley. 56.5% of the principals voted for the split yesterday.

wrong... it's about the power brokers in 4a and 5a that forced Curtis and eca down to 2a for nearly a decade stomping everyone in their paths - and same for the year they were in 3a...

yep and it has also now been proven a school with 100 kids shouldn't get the same vote as a school with 2000 kids
