Worse is that Mike Torino is a really good play by play and gruden's presence in the booth destroys that

Dude. Listen to games now. Listen to them from all over the country. EVERY single one is exactly the same. They all react to what happens with basic arse bullshite that you, me, and everybody else at home can see. Hell, half the time I'm at home or at the bar with my friends and say the same thing that the commentator says at the same time. They have NO talent.

Gary runs circles around literally every other commentator. It's unbelievable how in tune he is with the philosophies of each team he covers. And it's not the basic arse stuff like "gee golly folks, LSU is gonna pound it today with that RB of theirs." He spots tendencies in games and can dissect a formation the second a team lines up in it. He explains the chess match instead of reacting to it. Everybody can see what's happening. He explains why and how it happened better than anybody.

Lundquist is an Alabama homer. I'll never forget that play in the 2011 game, when Jefferson completed a pass to the Bama 10 hard-line. Lundquist yelled out, "Oh, no!"

IMO, Danielson is okay.

They were obviously doing this game since this is CBS' first string team and this is once again the biggest game they cover all year. but that being said, I can't stand them either.

I like it when Verne says Louisiana State University.

I also don't appreciate Gary's casual tone he takes regarding his relationship with Coach Saban. He calls him Nick like they're buddies from college. The nerve.

He speaks in the exact same manner re: Les.

No and no other regulars are even close to SEC knowledgable as they are.

Couldnt have said it better. Like I said, his knowledge of the game is pretty crazy as is his preparation. He must have had shite for talent because he can obviously read a defense like a book. He's not a bad edition to the Purdue QB club with Dawson and brees

I'd rather listen to Pam Ward and Gus together than go listen to Verne.

Newsflash, they don't give a flying frick about your team. They're professionals there to do a job

Thats fair, but you cant and won't convince me that Verne has a raging hard on for Alabama. He does it every game, regardless of who they're playing.

I don't know who is WORSE. Verne/Alabama or Musberger/USC

People keep bringing this up as evidence that he is an Alabama homer. It's just nuts. It obviously wasn't said in that manner but I'm not going to convince anyone. It's just ridiculous that so many people seem to think that, though.

I'll also add that danielson must do an incredible amount of research. Some 3rd string guy can come in and he knows his skill set, and can point out before the snap if they're going to him based on the look and matchup. He's incredible at his job
Boom. This. It's amazing what he does how the obvious amount of work he puts into it.

I'll explain it like this. You know how you go to Disney or some theme park or "nice" restaurant or any event tha is supposed to be amazing? But instead of it being amazing, you get the feeling that they're just trying to rush you through and don't actually care if it's a good experience? Everything seems fake and hollow and you can smell the bullshite from a mike away. That's 95% of color guys. They use some football lingo and laugh a few times and show you their keys to the game and it's over.

Gary puts me to shame.

And it's obvious the tone of that call.

Broadcasting is a dead art, and Verne is one of the greatest to ever do it. When he retires or dies, it just won't be the same.

So thousands of people, not just LSU fans, are just making it up out of thin air?

Has CBS started using Corey Chavous on any game calls yet?

He is fantastic with his knowledge and ability to break things down. When he was a player with the Vikings I know NFLN would bring him in for draft day due to his ability to breakdown and explain things to viewers. He and Mayock did great work those drafts.
