Don't want to make light of the situation, but damn. The off season has been coming with heavy hitters the past several years.

I just meant I feel like some people still don't want to believe it. But kudos for doing the rt thing decades later.
Tallahassee comes to mind. Not sure what will happen with UTk, haven't it really followed it.

IF, big IF, the allegations are true, then it looks bad for Butch Jones. If they can prove it, i don't see how he gets to stay around.
Edit: In addition there is the possibility of the release of the Mixon video. If that gets out it could spell trouble. This has the potential to be the start of a big off season.

Need to do a full house cleaning.

This needs to happen. That whole situation and the dubious red tape keeping the video from seeing the light of day just REEKS of "football first" lack of scruples. It's a program black eye bigger than the one Mixon dished out just waiting to happen.

Head host at Central Texas ESPN radio. Doesn't tweet a lot, but can be trusted when he does (unlike Chip Brown).
Dude has real sources around BU and generally he tweets are really solid, he stays away from rumor mill type stuff.

Briles is one of the bigger jerkoffs in any sport as a coach. Ive seen games where he's up 50 and still running a hurry up offense on teams and firing it downfield when its clearly over. His poor sportsmanship wont be missed, if someone says well they should stop them, just remember when les miles kneeled it inside the 5 at ole miss I think it was??? Thats what a coach of college kids is there to do, to show them how to play the game the right way which carries on into other aspects of life after football. Art Briles being a goon and running up the score on inferior opponents tells you what kinda guy he is so im not really shocked that all these atrocities happened on his watch and he looked away in an attempt to focus on what mattered most....to him....football

Can someone give a very quick, easy summary of what happened? Why was he canned?
TIA

He's getting his equivalent of "running up the score" as we speak! Going to be a long bus ride home...

is there a link somewhere as to why he's being fired?
I don't get what he, or Baylor has to do with players raping people, unless they were doing it during football functions on school property? If he was helping cover up stuff, then i can understand, but why would he even know about it? if he did, seems like the issue should be more with the police.
I just don't know enough about this and i'm not seeing any specifics.

Yeah, I've had time to think about this, and I think Baylor needs to be commended. The culture allowed by the president, the HC, and others was inexcusable.
That said, few schools come to mind where a successful head coach was let go for inappropriate conduct without having their hands forced to it.
Off the top of my head, Arkansas making the tough call to let Petrino go is the only similar situation.
Contrast this to what happened at Ohio State and Penn State.
So kudos to the Baylor Board Of Regents on finally doing the right thing.

b/c this was his (and the admin's) reaction to unsavory accusations against his players.
