So you're counting the Junction Boys days? Bama is a provincial redneck "dynasty." Miami is an international dynasty. DWI

Well yeah when the rest of the nation sucks a fat one along with the best teams, but if there's a major conference squad that goes undefeated, no matter how bad or their schedule, ala Notre Dame, you get in the Natty. If you lose once, you're on pins and needles the rest of the way. Think of it from Oregon's perspective.

Three peats have been done numerous times in the NBA.

Earned every time. Not a popularity vote like college football

Not even close to comparable. One bad game = no Natty.

that must be why bama didn't win last year since they had one loss. and in 2011.

The Heat could lose 30 games and still make the playoffs.

because they're playing 82 games back to back to back all against other professional teams. comparing college's level of competition with a professional league is absurd.

the heat winning two straight is far more impressive because teams can improve drastically year to year in the pros far more than in college.

that has more to do with the talent level of the NBA, especially when you have a core of superstars on your team for a few years, compared to the talent level of college football.

Kind of makes my point.

In the Nba you get two or three stars and you're set for a while.

In CFB...while the talent gap is wider, you don't have the same superstars you can ride outside a select player or two on a team of 22 starters. There's exceptions like AJ who has been the starter since he was a sophomore, but he isn't exactly a superstar.

What? How are people saying the Heat? Alabama has been more dominate and has won 3 out of 4...AND...they have a higher chance of three-peating. Is this a joke? One of the weirdest threads I have ever seen. Easily Alabama is the answer.

It's just stupid to compare. The playing fields aren't even remotely close.

There is no playoff field in College Football its just picking the most popular team

the Heat have been executing at a higher level of play.

they are a professional team, remember?

Alabama has been good but they are still amateurs.

if some LSU fans want to fall at their feet or kiss their arse just because they have beat your team and ruined your season the last few years then you go right ahead.

Heat

Bama's 2011 title would be like the Heat losing in the first round of the playoffs then ESPN having a campaign to place them in the finals.

People are saying the Heat because the word "better" can be interpreted in different ways because the question is trying to compare a Pro Basketball team to a College Football team.

The Pro Bball team has to play 100% of their games against the top 29 basketball teams in the world.

The College Football team plays less than half their games against the top 30 teams in their sport and at least 25% of their games are against teams that are completely irreverent to the sport.

Heat, easily. Not even remotely close. Playoffs >>>>> no playoffs when it comes to measuring strength.

As pointed out earlier, good college teams play about 5 real games all year.

Bama got one title thanks mostly to a Colt McCoy injury. They got another thanks entirely to OSU losing a fluke game to Iowa State.

The Heat, as much as I dislike them, won their titles by playing relevant competition 90% of the time and winning multiple playoff series.

So yes, Bama's 3 titles are less impressive than the 2 Miami won.

2 titles in a row means a dynasty now? Wow. The Celtics and Bruins laugh at this.
