In their 7 playoff losses under Allen they have given up : 33 32 27 27 42 38 22 And he is supposedly a defensive coach You then have the below which certainly doesn’t help:

Yeah this has been my thing with him since Allen turned the corner into top 5 QB. McD lost his edge as a defensive guy. He was pretty impressive in Carolina but that could have been because of Thomas Davis, Luke Kuechly and a really talented roster - at least defensively.

Having said that, I don’t think he’s a bad coach. But he’s one of those guys that just can’t get over the hump

He is a great head coaxh. The Buffalo culture and locker room is as good as any in the nfl

But he is not a good defensive coach at all against good offenses. And unfortunately that’s kinda important to win in the playoffs . He should have tried to find a real DC and give up on that side after the 13 second debacle

But if you fire him, you need to look at GM too. That roster doesn’t have a ton of talent outside of JA and Cook
Shakir is a good slot, but they mostly whiffed on Keon unless he gets better quickly.

Tre White is 31, but still a baller. They have some pieces, but the most important one is already in place with JA.

Defensive minded coaches (minus Belichick) haven't won a Super Bowl in over a decade.

Casually leaves out one of the best HCs of all time who won multiple in this time period + uses a convenient cut off to miss multiple defensive HCs winning SBs in a row

Edit: the two favorites to make the SB this year now are also defensive minded. Tzimme with the usual absolute scrub takes

What a wild world we live in. McDermott gets fired and Zac Taylor keeps his job.

Truth is you don’t need an offensive minded coach with Allen

He has had 5 different OCs and every year they are top 5 in scoring offense and they score even more in the playoffs

You just need a coach that can have the defense play mediocre in the playoffs and you have a championship team

wtf are the Bills thinking here, who are they going to get?

Josh Allen was put in a position to win that game by 2 TD’s.

This one season I do give McDermott a pass because the defensive injuries were insane

But the other years he had some legit defensive talent and they still blew it in the playoffs

somewhere, josh allen just sobbed again for not only letting down his teammates but for getting his head coach fired.

Yeh, by scoring 40 pts

What a great position to be put in

Because it's not a defensive league.

I think the team obviously knew this was happening….hence why they were so upset this year

They have a shitty roster and their QB’s play is extremely volatile. He puts up points and yards but he frequently has huge turnover days too.

And they don’t have enough stars to consistently win in the playoffs. Chiefs had one of the best QBs, one or more of the best offensive skill position players, and one of the best defensive players all healthy for each of their runs. Not including very good secondary pieces, role players, and one of the best HCs and offensive minds ever.

The Bills have just Josh Allen

Yet the pats, rams, Seahawks, etc are all somehow holding offenses down in the playoffs ….

That is just completely incorrect as it comes to the playoffs outside of 1 game
