Especially at this level of wealth, it would be nice to see it set up that way.

And like I said, they could probably do all that for $50k/month, and even that is being generous. The remaining $200k can go to a trust fund for the kid when they're 18.

I'd like to hear a lawyer with experience in family law comment on this. Why is this not pushed towards legislation, but deadbeat dad's legislation is. Why can't we get gold digger legislation?

flexibility is what gets lawyers paid

legislators are often lawyers with lawyer friends

no legislator wants to be accused of not caring about children, either. that's a political death sentence

After seeing the horror stories for men leaving divorce court/custody battles, having a child seems very unappealing to me.

I can understand that. Shitty people choosing to have kids with other shitty people. Or maybe one of the parties involved is a shitty person. You can't do anything about that. Where do the adults get held accountable for making shitty decisions? They have kids, the kids suffer more than anyone. This is not the norm, but more often than not it is. Two people get together, and quickly get married. Kids sometimes come before or right after the marriage. Or the kid comes and there is not marriage. 70% or more of the situations I see where this is the case. One or both of the adults have no business with the each other. Much less having kids. It always ends up in the adults hating each other, and trying to one up each other in terms of getting the kid(s) on their side.

He makes like 30 Million a year, that comes out to around 10% of his salary on his kids.

Which is probably less than almost any normal person with a kid spends.

Nobody's saying they don't care about kids. Clearly they don't care about fathers though. Who are an overwhelmingly high number of people affected by this type of shite. I am not arguing the legitimacy of the deadbeat dads stuff. However, I do know that it doesn't accomplish anything. Other than putting someone in jail for not paying. My SIL's baby daddy is in jail now because of it. He doesn't care, he just sits in jail and does his time. Meanwhile, his daughter, luckily is being brought up in a great environment, without any support from him.
But there are guys all over this country, who are live check to check, or in a level of poverty because momma wants to live in a 250K house, and drive a Yukon. And the judges and lawyers allow this to happen.

What I am getting at is that I agree with the others in saying. There should be some sort of legal controls in place, where the mother doesn't get to live a life of financial paradise because she has kids with a rich man. Every penny should go directly to the kids, not a cent of it to the mother. I understand some has to cross over due to quality of housing/lifestyle. But the mom isn't or at least shouldn't be allowed to take advantage of that. Any money left over should by law, be required to go into a trust that they father has to sign off on any time the money is to be touched. Until the kid is of legal age.

Child support is always based on how much you make.

You aren’t allowed to live like Bills Gates and just keep your kids comfortably middle class.

people with kids, what percentage of your income do you thinkgoes to your kids?

this assumes the father isn't in the kids life and his only level of support is financial

also, even if that's the case, why not? hell, capping it at a top 5% income ($250k) is hard to argue against. why do they have to live like a 0.1% person when they're in the top 5%? what is being denied to them?

Yes when it goes to court. I understand that fully.

I am not saying you should be. But why does the mother get to?

And I am not just talking about rich guys. But for example, some middle class guys who pay out the arse for child support, have to live middle to lower class lifestyles, while Mom is driving around luxury vehicles, living in big houses. Living the life on Dad, who is subsidizing her lifestyle. Not just the kids.

I would think half of my yearly income goes to my kids. So roughly $25k-ish? That may be more than what I actually spend. I mean who really keeps track of that? But I'd be damned if I didn't keep track of that shite if I were having to pay child support.
If I were divorced, there is no way I'd be able to live anything close to my current lifestyle, which isn't impressive by any standards. Yet my wife would likely improve her's because, she's getting half of annual income or close to it in child support, plus not having to pay insurance and stuff like that.

Would the technical term for that be a "401-count"?

If I were an agent, I would really push for reversible vasectomies for my clients.

You know the NBA literally has a class on how not to get a girl pregnant right?

Can you freeze sperm? Do that and get a vasectomy at 18. Lol

She was fricking Leinart when both were attending USC on athletic scholarships.

Not sure how she got Blake since his potential universe of pussy was much wider as an NBA megastar.

Her value increased by being "Leinart's ex". For some reason, these girls get dicked down by a celebrity and they are then somehow elevated in stature. It's bizzare.

Blake Griffin Salary
At 3mil/yr that’s around 10% of his salary. Not bad imo.

I think I did that right!
