Musberger, along with Keith Jackson and John Saunders, are the voices of CFB and always will be

Brent is good. Palmer sucks and needs to go.

When you realize all the events he's covered, it's mind boggling: NBA Finals' in the Bird/Magic days, Golf, NFL, College Football, the Geirgetown-Villanova NC game...the guy has done everything, but I will remember every Sunday Morning's "You Are Looking Liiiivvvve" the most. Great childhood memory.
I got to speak to him for a few minutes after last year's LSU-A&M game and he was a nice guy.

Brent Musberger's piers call him the smartest guy in sports.

I've heard enough of them say it to agree, Big Game Brent can bring it

At least that means he gets to avoid that horrible Vandy vs South Carolina game on Thursday

SECN needed a big name to launch the network and were willing to pay for it. So you're right; I see it as sort of his swan song but I'm pretty sure he's making damn good coin.

Personally I've never been a fan of his. He seems to over-dramatize everything. But at least he has some personality and a distinctive style.

he's old.

SEC network is not that much of a comedown.

He's old but I don't remember him showing any signs of senility like Pat Summerall and Dick Stockton and Keith Jackson during their later years. He's still pretty sharp and very good at calling the action. Chris Fowler doesn't do anything for me.

True.

Keith Jackson was the voice of college football.

I think Brent took over pretty well as being the voice of CFB for everyone in the nation.

He is a very talented and versatile play by play guy. I like Jackson, Franklin, and Nessler more, but Musberger ranks right behind them.

(However, if I was Herbstreit I probably would have punched him for calling him "Herbie" all those times.)

He does live in Wyoming, so there's a lot of travel involved in coming down to SEC Country

I was never a fan of ole Brent. He does have a great tv/radio voice, but he's more interested in talking about not the game. I don't care about Brittany Spears or whatever other stupid non football shite you want to throw in there from time to time. Just relay the correct information to me in a timely manner. Pay attention to the game. You shouldn't have to wait for someone to tell you in your ear who the penalty was on or what it was.
I like Jessie Palmer and I like Gary Danielson. I don't like Verne either.

Chris Fowler sounds like Stan's dad in South Park when he gets excited.

He's bad.

Especially when you don't fly, so it's a bunch of road trips with your wife.

He is very ill informed. Palmer does not do proper prep work for games, he reads the sake tired crib-card for multiple games per season.

In game he is about the same. He is often so incorrect on things like replays that I wonder if he is watching the same game or knows the rules at all.

Overall he is not good his job. He is basically one step above Rod Gilmore level (simply because Palmer is not racist like Gilmore.)

His entire career entailed traveling all over the country, less travel would include only going to games in a certain region of the country for a couple months

That's why I say semi retirement
