They'll go after a Cordinator from the NFL. A name that links the past is Norton. Problem is no HC experience. He's a SC guy by default but played at UCLA. He's been with winners wherever he's gone as a player or coach.

Also SC has done well hiring current assistants rather than current HC

Carroll
Robinson
McKay
Tollner

Not so good

Hackett
Sark
Kiffin
Smith

I think both of these coaches retire at their current posts.

Said McElwain in the earlier thread. Now his QB's on PEDs. Does that hurt him or make it more likely he's gone because he's missing 6 games next year too?

Given Haden's track record, I'm going with Randy Edsall.

More I think Norton makes too much sense. Watch Haden go after Schottenheimer.

McElwain is at UF for the long haul I believe.

Del Rio is not leaving NFL , SC is a year late on him.

Here is another option....head coaching experience, and USC former player.

Bring back Jack

If they end up with an assistant, it will probably be Joe Barry

Will anyone be suprised if the team rallies, upsets ND/Utah and then Haden moves to make Chad Helton the next Trojans coach, given his "understanding of our unique tradition."
