If the ref can’t make that call then he shouldn’t be on the field.

The defender almost fell down
ETA: It also looked like he stepped out of bounds. Not sure if he was forced though. Officials hat was on the ground too.

Based on his position, I think the ref was laser focused on seeing whether or not the receiver came down with the ball and knew replay could double-check the footwork/ball placement.

He couldn’t tell two whole bodies were in the endzone. I think expecting him to call OPI is asking a bit much.

It's not even that the ref didn't call it. It's that Jesse and Tess did not mention it once.
This makes it look like they are in the tank for Tech b/c they don't want ND to get bumped out w/a BYU win.

Not discussing the play with everything that went on is definitely strange.
