Persons familiar with the deal say the Charlotte Bobcats are finalizing a trade that would send Emeka Okafor to the New Orleans Hornets for Tyson Chandler.
The swap of centers could be completed later Monday, two people told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because an official announcement has not been made.
sounds like a done deal, per the AP.

This would be amazing for the Hornets. It isn't about money, it is about that Chandler is never going to be the same again.
I have zero idea why Charlotte wants to do this.

quote:if you watch the games...you can easily tell that he improves every year. He may not be a beast, but name a backup C that is! Hilton was really not that bad when he came off the bench. Him playing behind Okafor wouldnt be a problem at all.
Please tell me how he has "improved"?

Pump the brakes kid.
Peterson is a 10 year vet who can't get off the bench for a team with a bottom 5 bench. i'll take my chances with the rookie, thanks.
nobes, if you had to go into a season depending on Thornton & Collison or Daniels & Peterson, you'd honestly tell me that you'd take the latter two?

Peterson has proved on the NBA level that he could be a starter and hit a jumpshot on an at least semi-consistent basis.

Part of chandler's appeal is he doesn't need the ball.
Okafor wont need the ball. Come on dude
and who cares if he gets it occasionally, he scores at a high percent

Peterson was a starter on a team that made a run in the playoffs.

Not with the Hornets
I would totally agree if we were dealing with the Peterson that played in Toronto.

c'mon, rondo. Any point guard with a fricking pulse beats Daniels, not to mention Mo Pete who's bene invisible.

in toronto?
like 7 years ago?
i get the fact that he's done it on this level, but considering the fact that he couldn't get off the bench for a team with a brutally awful bench, playing for a coach that has a hard-on for old veterans....again i'll take my chances with the young guys

that entire run was made on the backs of Paul, West & Chandler. dude averaged 7 ppg in the playoffs that year.

Devin Brown can't even dribble the ball between his legs.
