back in the spring I guess, Rhule was quoted as saying something like "Here at Nebraska, we don't have people with cameras walking around filming us on everything we say."
He didn't mention Deion, but he was basically saying he's not an attention whore like Deion is
quote:Congrats, he was right about irrelevant shite. But Deion is punking him on the shite that actually matters, playing football.
And he was right.
But hey, Rhule will always have being right!

Conversely, are people allowed to call him out as being full of it without being labeled as racist or “wanting him to fail”?
Sure. He has a football team to lead.

I sat for a decade in my season tickets at Folsom Field but now I'd be concerned a Sanders family member might come lecture me on how I disrespected them in some way. Every comment, every glance has to be deconstructed now for "disrespect". To me, it feels feminine and weak. And the thing is, you can only play that card for so long until people just start rolling their eyes at you. You can't simultaneously be a fabulously wealthy man in a leadership position and pretend you are being besieged without losing all your credibility.
That said, Go Buffs!

I’m with you. My second team behind my Tigers is CU. Has been since I moved there in 1988. Seen some really good seasons and some really bad seasons. If Deion can get them back on track I’m fine with it.
But yeah the constant bitching about RESPEK gets old quickly.

Disrespect" Narrative
Its so tiresome...
This is shite a rapper pushes not a 56 year old grown arse man who is supposed to be teaching young men.
What, is Deion and crew goin' to Sonic if somebody steps on their Pumas?
Deions playing everyone with this fake outdated narrative. Its comical theater.
This stuff is juvenile and pandering to "the hood" as Deion said after TCU to keep his respect after BAILING on an HBCU...black flight.
He needs to stop pretending its 1965 and him bringing his HBCU roster to big time football is shocking white America... That no other team in P5 has tons of black dudes from the hood.

While Neon is dealing race cards left and right and claiming "disrepekt" it's rather comical that his two coordinators are a couple of the whitest dudes you'll ever come across.

The media is nearly sucking their cocks but they are still playing the disrespect card.

bullshite. Dabo did it for years. Kirby did it last year while winning back to back titles. But Deion's black so it's what a rapper does.

The ghetto it’s us against the world attitude will only get them so far. They do have a lot of talent but it’s going to take them a few years at least to be serious contenders.

Most teams try and drum up the disrespect narrative as a motivational tool. It doesn't have to be true. They can be the frontrunner from the beginning and they'll still pretend like no one gave them a shot. After two games, Colorado has earned some respect, but it's not like they deserved it beforehand. Where's Dennis Green when you need him?
I said 5 wins would be a success for them, but all of the calculus changed after the first game, and again after this past game. But there are people saying that TCU was overrated, now Nebraska's overrated, so people are still trying to stick to what they said in the pre-season.
The way Deion thinks is that it doesn't matter if 99% of the media is behind him, he's going to find that one naysayer (and there's always naysayers) and use that as motivation.

If you’re looking at long term sustainability, disrespect is the only card Deion has to motivate his team. When that goes away, he will plummet back to earth. Deion is banking on it paying big to lure some team into giving him an obscene contract.

quote:But it is true. You remember the vitriol / derision towards Hunter because he dared pick Jackson State over a p5( Can't have Black's kids seriously thinking of returning to HBCU's). The laughably preposterous theory that he can't be " developed" as if they needed p5's. Ruined his life! Shedeur can't play at the P5 level. Another wasted career at J State. They've heard this utter garbage on Social media for 2 years & won't forget at after 2 weeks of a little slurping.

It's premature love to see these "underdeveloped"(rolleyes) HBCU players dragging P5 players & Coaches.

No, I don't remember any of that because I don't follow Jackson State at all. And I'm pretty sure that HBCUs have no problem getting black kids to go to them. The race thing isn't really a thing. Some outliers on Twitter making it a thing doesn't make it a thing. That includes people like yourself that always makes it a thing. It's an old, worn out drum, stop beating it.
