I read the Commissioner said they were going to make an early decision about the game today.....any idea when that might be?

Th/F/Sa/Su is what I'm pretty sure it will be.

Reddick was playing LF late in the game last night, if I’m not mistaken.

eta: Reddick has played in LF in 29 games this season. 120 games total for the Astros over his time in Houston.

Mattress Mack made 500K betting on the Cole Train yesterday.

I was going to ask the same. Think we should know by like 2pm central or so right?

I don't think he bet on an individual game yet. He's only bet on World Series odds.

Good point, they did pinch run Jake for Brantley late.

Still, I think you have no choice but to keep running Yordan out there and let him work through it.

Problem is, with Reddick/Tucker in the lineup, you don't want to drop Yordan too low and have those two lefties right next to each other.

I was just looking at the radar and it definitely looks like they are going to get some rain. I guess it’s just a matter of how much or how long it rains.

I just told you he bet on Cole yesterday.

He put down 750K at -150, won 500K.

If this happens and grieke gets his head out of his arse, do you pitch verlander Friday and try to end it?

My personal opinion... no.

You stick with Urquidy/Peacock in game 4 even if it's pushed back to tomorrow night.

Then you have Greinke/JV/Cole all fully rested and ready to go.

If I read the weather report right in relation to Yankee Stadium, it may not matter who pitches Thursday. The wind is expected to be howling out.

The commissioner already said they would take away the travel day if the game is rained out today.

It’s an interesting situation but I think I’m with you. If you do win that bullpen game it’s basically over.

Oh the other hand if you throw Greinke you have some options win or lose - you can bullpen it up 3-1 knowing you have Verlander and Cole in your pocket, you can throw Verlander trying to end it, you bring Verlander back on normal rest if it’s 2-2.

My question is how much better is Greinke than Urquidy/Peacock/James etc right now.

To me we are going to have to score 5 plus runs in the next game regardless. The Yankees lineup isn't going to keep sucking. I say go with the bullpen game next then ride the 3 guys in 5,6,7.

Winning game 3 gives you options, for sure.

I would just do my best to avoid ending up in a must-win bullpen gamme.

So, if it gets postponed and then you throw Greinke and Verlander in 4 and 5 and lost both of them, then you're forcing yourself into an elimination game with the bullpen. Now maybe if you lose game 4 with Greinke you go for the bullpen in game 5. Or maybe JV wins it.

If you run the bullpen out there in game 4 and lose, and then Greinke in game 5 and lose, then you have two elimination games, but you're at home with JV and Cole fully rested.

I just think you go with the bullpen game in the lower leverage situation, but these guys make a LOT more money than I do to make these decisions.

This is what I would do as well. Best case scenario, you win game 4 and have Greinke/Verlander/Cole only needing to win one more.

Worst case scenario, you lose game 4, Greinke gets beaten again in game 5. You have to win games 6 and 7, but you have Verlander/Cole at home to do it.

Game 4 has been postponed. Huge advantage #Astros. The Astros will have Zack Greinke and Justin Verlander start now in Games 4-5 beginning Thursday.

I'd even be tempted to give JV game 5 on regular rest and Greinke game 6 at home.

If game 5 is postponed to Friday, obviously.

Only problem there is if you do lose 4 and 5, then you're putting Greinke into the must-win situation instead of JV.
