Asked if this calf injury feels worse than the one he sustained on Sunday, Jake Meyers looked toward a team spokesman and asked "do I have to answer that?" He did not and then politely ended the interview.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Maybe Chandler can force their hand.
Apparently misdiagnosing 2 different broken bone injuries, not even bothering to look at Penas ribs until he complained, and only doing ultrasounds on Meyers’ calf isn’t embarrasing enough
ETA: When was the last time we had a pitcher come back from a major surgery in a timely manner? 26 months for Garcia, 2 years for Lance, rushing JP France back and still needing to do surgery later

Weakness: Starting pitching and left-handed hitting
Best match: Seth Lugo, Kansas City Royals
The Astros lost Alex Bregman to free agency, traded Kyle Tucker to the Chicago Cubs, have spent most of the season without Yordan Alvarez, their best hitter, and currently sport a rotation that includes 26- and 28-year-old rookies. There is no reason they should be this good. And yet they are. So even if the cost is heavy and eats into a farm system that's among the worst in MLB, targeting a pitcher of Lugo's ilk would give them among the nastiest postseason rotations in the game and further entrench the Astros as a force. Lugo's peripherals suggest he's in line for regression but even if his ERA does jump from its current 2.67 mark, Lugo's nine-pitch mix gives him the flexibility to adjust in-game -- a luxury shared by only a handful of starters in the game.
I would go with training staff and organizational leadership as the biggest weaknesses.

That’s gonna be next-level incompetence if the Astros’ trainers turned a calf strain into an Achilles injury.

Cocksuck is back, Shay is down.

Pitching probables for Astros-Rangers series:
RHP Lance McCullers Jr. (2-3, 5.82) vs. RHP Jack Leiter (4-6, 4.32)
LHP Framber Valdez (10-4, 2.90) vs. RHP Jacob deGrom (9-2, 2.29) RHP
RHP Hunter Brown (9-3, 2.21) vs. RHP Nathan Eovaldi (6-3, 1.62)

Achilles was my fear. I mentioned it pregame yesterday.
ETA: excuse me, it was day before yesterday:

Injury associations that I don’t like seeing in the last few years and what they end up being or lead directly to:
Strained forearm —-> Torn UCL (Tommy John)
Strained calf —-> Ruptured/torn Achilles
Keep that bad juju off of Jake.

So, the corresponding move is sending Jakey Rakey to the injured list? I really can’t keep up boys, so bear with me if I have my head up my arse.

I’m guessing Jake to the IL and then they will unfortunately activate Chas and move Corona back the Sugar Land

One of them. But Bryce will also need to be added to the 40 man. Yordan is technically still on the 10 day IL but hes already past 60 I think so he could be shifted to 60 day designation and not have to DFA anybody from the 40.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Well this seems...not great. His contact rate would be near the bottom in the majors but hes doing this against AAA pitching.

They moved Yordan to the 60 day a few weeks ago to make room for Weems maybe

Good news is Sugarland is a massive park. He’s not going to be very good to start at least.
