I missed today's action. Looks like Seattle fixed our offense at least.

Yimi Garcia was the type of unexciting reinforcement I was expecting after the Graveman move. He's saved 15 games for the Marlins though so at least now we've got some options when Pressly is unavailable.

Everything has been budget conscious so far. Graveman and Garcia are cheap, we dumped Joe Smith. Curious if we make anymore moves to go over the top or if Crane/Click feel like we've upgraded our biggest hole without exceeding the tax.

The mission was clear. Make the "must" bullpen moves before the deadline while staying under the tax line. Then you go big game hunting, willing to go over the line for the right impact player.

I think there’s a few guys they’re willing to go over for - Scherzer, Berrios, Marte (before he was dealt), maybe Buxton or Bryant. Makes sense to me. I’d like to add one more bullpen arm

I am pretty happy with these two moves so far. Get one good and one average bullpen arm and give up very little of consequence. Hard to complain

Throw Trea Turner in there, too.

And one more...

Yep Turner for sure. I’d love Charlie to come back whether it’s now or next year

CF is the only spot to add in the field. You aren't making bryant your cf. That ship has sailed. No options out there. Buxton no way.

I think they make a real offer on Kimbrel or another 2nd tier reliever and thats it.

The offense has been the best in baseball for most of the season, July slump notwithstanding. The starting pitching has been mostly...capable. Not elite, not bad. The biggest hole was the bullpen and they got one of the best relievers in the majors this year plus a solid guy who's spent time closing games this year. I think we've gotten better, was it a swing for the fences no. But we'll see how it ends up.

I haven’t really seen Bryant play CF and it’s probably risky getting him to do only that

I applaud them for grabbing Graveman, and Yimi is another option on nights when Pressly is unavailable. Montero is the equivalent of taking a flier, and I'm OK with that considering it rids us of Joe Smith, and Austin Pruitt is also gone.

I'd like another reliever upgrade, and I'd like to be pleasantly surprised with a legitimate ace starting pitcher, just because. If the top 7 in the lineup hit as their baseball cards say they should, they don't really need an upgrade there. Never thought I would say that considering how bad Straw was earlier in the year.

I’m getting a little sick and tired of yordan’s laziness when he runs to first. You can chastise me all you want that this is a blowout and he has bad knees but he’s not playing left today that was worthy of a benching right there.

Dude I was thinking the same thing. I mean at the very least there has to be some happy medium between what he did and and an all out bust a nut dash with a headfirst slide.

With Marte gone some of the potential CF options are

Kris Bryant

Whit Merrifield

Bryan Reynolds

Cedric Mullins

Ketel Marte

Byron Buxton

I don't really think any of those guys fit what we're looking for and for most of them the prospect cost would be sky high.

He’s under control until ‘26 and would cost a fortune though
