A friend who played abut in really low minors and did some scouting (now he runs his own stats and analytics for fun and is an engineer IRL) thinks Semien matches up better with our park. Says he would have hit 54 HRs if he played at MMP.

Story’s not the answer there

yeah , I'm not high on Storey, but my point being the DAT was all Pena can take CC spot and I kept insisting a division Fav / AL favorite is not gonna trust a rookie unproven SS from the start

they might , might go cheap on a FA and bring Pena in slow but i doubt it

It won’t be Bregman, and Diaz will never hold up long enough to wait on Pena

I look for them to sign someone very cheap, none of the name recognized bunch

I still say trade for David Fletcher. He fits the Astros' mold and Altuve can move down in the lineup.

Send Siri or Chas plus a mid-level prospect pitcher or two.

No reason for the Angels to trade him that I can see. Decent hitter, plays multiple positions, controlled for 4 more seasons at 4 to 6.5 million plus two club options at 8M.

Cheap, flexible player controlled for 4-6 seasons.

Yeah, I know, but their OF was awful with Trout hurt and they really need more pitching.

Never going to happen though.

Doesn't sound like Verlander is going to accept the QO. He had 15-20 scouts at his workout. Threw 25 pitches and was at 95-96 mph.

Oakland is expected to slash payroll this off season. Potentially down to the $50 million range which would mean trading more expensive players like the Matts, Manaea, Bassit

The Mariners and Angels are expected to be spenders in free agency.

He was never going to accept it. Everyone involved knew it, it's just business.

Astros plan is likely to stand pat until the new CBA is in place. Maybe a low level signing or 2. I don't think they do anything big prior to the season starting and they will use the excuse of leaving cap room to make deals at the deadline if it makes sense. They can't afford to trade much from the system which isn't deep so I don't see any big trades being possible. I could see a low level shortstop signing like Simmons but nothing bigger.

I’d like to see JV back, I know I’m probably in the minority

Need to land Chris Bawsitt in the A's fire sale. I can tell he's good folks.

Yeah, I'd love to have him back, but I don't think it's going to happen.
