Three at bats, three 3 ball counts for Frey. Weak contact, K, and a BB but his command of the zone is impressive.

I know the org is incredibly high on him for that trait along with his general psychicality and ability to compress the baseball.

His arm strength was under the radar and also helped him gain some leverage

Not something he was able to show much in college

The injuries sucked for him but hopefully it ends up being a blessing for the Astros and they got a monster talent in the 3rd round. They certainly paid him like that’s the case

I’ve been out at the high school fields and have followed almost every pitch for LSU outside of yesterday’s game.

My expectations for this year are maybe a couple games above .500. The mismanagement of the Framber situation was understandable, and I think has cleared my system.

We will inevitably regret not moving Pena, but again, any chance of making a run required his presence. With the certain lockout looming, and the same orgs abusing the present system, my goodwill has waned, resulting in more of an overall appreciation of what the last 10 years have done for my 50+ years of devotion.

No ill will to NIH, but I have switched recently from wine to bourbon as my evening unwind, so let the chips fall where they may.

His arm was a deciding factor, as it relates to a future position.

Also playing a big part was Jay willing to match slot for his return

The opportunity is there for Frey to debut this year if he performs. The corner OF is wide open and they’ve shown they will push guys aggressively

I agree and I don’t understand why that hasn’t been mentioned as an option that would solve the infield logjam. His stock has never been higher. I know Correa has made comments about playing 3B and wanting to be there, but I mean, what else was he going to say?

Peña may go right back to chasing sliders down and away and we’ll be hosed.
