If tweet fails to load, click here. We do need pitching help but im not sure Passan is familiar with rehab statuses.
Rotation is going to get a bit crowded with all we've got coming back. Unless we trade out of that bunch. But with Framber and HB locking down 2 spots, plus you figure Walter has pitched well enough to keep going. Thats 3 spots with Javi, Luis and Spaghetti on their way back. Plus whatever happens to LMJ
I dont know that we necessarily need a starter. I also don't know that we don't. What if Javi and Garcia come back looking like Lance?

They should add a starter, Spencer is likely to be fine with the workload because it wasn't an arm surgery like the other two so once he's built back hopefully there's no complications.
Garcia and Javi, if they have any setbacks at any point I'd imagine they would shut them down for the year. That's a lot of faith with the luck and clearly questionable rehab stuff this organization has dealt with over the last few seasons, and both have some bullpen experience as big leaguers, but that's a tough ask to rehab them as starters and then say actually we are going to change everything up and move you to the pen.
Of that list I think Kelly and Bradley are the most appealing. Kelly is a perfectly fine 3 starter with experience and would be a rental. Bradley has + stuff at times but looks like he struggles to generate whiffs and K's with it, BUT he's controlled through 2029, I don't think the Astros would have the prospect capital for that but who knows Rays operate in their own orbit. Completely out on Gallen, but get to see it up close tonight and he will almost assuredly make me eat those words.

France is potentially coming back as well. You have to figure HB/Framber/Spaghetti and at least one of Garcia, Javier, and France take the fourth spot. And I’d rather just ride with Walter/Gusto/Gordon in the 5/6 slots than deal anything else from the farm.

I agree with all that

Mullins probably fits the bill the most, esp the Dana profile, but it obviously would depend on what has to be given up

Yes they should add a starter. At least one more will almost certainly get hurt as well, hopefully not Framber or Brown.

Time to sit down LMJ and see if it’s worth a shot at a bullpen role or if they just want to eat the contract. I think outside of a few outings we’d be materially better off with allowing Gusto and Okert to eat innings.

Hes of no use in the bullpen either. He's not going to transition to a long relief slot because he cant give you long relief. And he's not going to be able to pitch with the frequency of a regular use bullpen slot.

When the Stros are scuffling and vibes are low we abandon the normal world to dive into the sewers and live among the filth until it feels right

Jake's defense in center is definitely missed. Last several days between zchas and Trammell, ive noticed several balls drop in thst Jake likely gets to.
