no they didn’t. he had to miss a game due to being knocked out due to a targeting and being in concussion protocol and the third string QB led them to a win in the rain over a ranked rival because their D was lights out and filled with NFL talent.
just this year we get to watch a team like Oklahoma be ranked and “win with defense” and ugly offense, yet FSU never got the chance. And got left out in favor of a team they literally beat on the field.
The committee made a mockery of the sport with that decision, and it was such a bad precedent exactly because of this.

Yeh Oklahoma just barely won against an awful coach less team with horrific QB play which is ok, but FSU easily winning against a ranked team with their backup QB just was plain malarkey

And I thought they should be in the playoff if just for their defense alone, and because I didn't want Bama in. Except that year it was limited to four teams. Again, it's very different from the situation right now.
