Wade beats SMU by one point. McMahon beat SMU by 12 points earlier this year. You act like this was some sort of monumental victory. What’s your point?

McMahon needs more time. I think he can get to four wins this year.

The McMen were making fun of his record back in December while LSU was 12-1 thanks to their shitty OOC schedule.

Maybe in 4-5 more years we’ll McBeat some ranked teams and win more than 2 conference games

Of course LSU hires an amazing coach only for him to get busted for something that was already prevalent and is now just blatantly out in the open a few years later. I miss the general.

He got "busted" so bad that LSU lost a total of 1 scholarship. It was our own AD and school president that decided to give the basketball program the death penatly. They fired the head coach days before the NCAA tournament completely undercutting the student athletes that the administration is supposed to fight for.

(I was saying this at the time) What is the worst that the NCAA could have done if LSU didn't fire Will Wade? The loss of a scholarship or two and a one year NCAA Tournament ban? So over the threat of that Scott Woodward and William Tate tucked and ran, hired Matt McMahon which has basically given LSU basketball the death penalty. Good job guys!

Woodward did that so he could continue going on the AD/media circuit and not have people think less of him. He was a coward.

I got ratioed a month ago for extoling the virtues of Wade and how LSU would be lucky to get him back with one of the responses being:

"Quit living in the past. There are better coaches for LSU to hire than a 12-6 coach at NC State"

I have never seen a guy who's sole reputation in life is built on spending other people's money. I think coaching contracts should be written so that when a coach is fired the buyout is paid by the AD. Like you said, Woodward is a coward. How else could he so easily spend 8-9 figures in buyouts and hiriings using other people's money?

He's won everywhere he's been, he'll win everywhere he goes.

I will say this, CMM draws up some good plays coming out of timeouts.

It's most of the rest that leaves me wanting better.

He is seemingly a terrible motivator of young men and can't teach mental discipline. I like his offensive and defensive sets most of the time, the plays are often there to be made, but we make stupid mistakes constantly and go through waves of poor effort leading to failure. They are much more talented than they are playing this season.

I just wonder if his players don't respect him.

ETA:

I think he'd be a solid assistant coach for a while with a big name head coach. He knows the technical game and would good in film sessions, he just can't get his players to execute for whatever variety of reasons.

I wish we'd pull the trigger now, but I'm assuming we won't until we have our plan and Verge et al are getting ducks in a row before making a move.

How is McTrash against the bottom of the SEC?

Two of the worst teams in the league combined to lead LSU 94-46 at half in the PMAC
