20 years from now, the current guys will be romanticized.

Doubtful.

15-20 years ago you knew you were watching some of the best to ever do it in real time. I don’t get that same feeling with this current crop.

15 years ago you had Brady, Brees, Manning, Manning, Rothlisberger, Rivers,

That’s wild that 6 possible HOF’ers were in their primes

You will easily have Mahomes, Stafford, Allen, and Lamar as 4 in their primes right now

Then you have guys like burrow, maye, Lawrence, and hurts. Could very realistically have 6-8 HOFs tearing it up at the same time from this generation

You don't think Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, etc. are some of the best to ever do it?

People severely underrate current QBs. Just take a guy like Dak, who people love to shite on. His 2025 is on pace to be better than any year of Rivers' career except maybe 2010. And 2025 isn't a particularly elite year for Dak.

Defenses are a lot tougher now, too.

If you actually appreciated the game of football, you'd understand why QBs these days aren't able to put up the numbers.
You got a lot of downvotes, but yes I saw that clip of Cousins saying how defenses changed and how difficult it is to pass for 4K these days.

Makes me appreciate what Matt Stafford is doing. Plays the same game he did 10 years ago and is still carving up defenses like no one else can anymore.

He’s also a tough SOB. Just watched Lamar exit the game Sunday night with a fricken bruise after he barely got hit in what is essentially a win or go home game.

sure I do in different ways..they all can run the football....the majority of OP list were totally pocket passers....imagine how good you have to be to often times have games where you never punt where you aren't even a threat to run the ball. I know it's not fair to take that away from these three but just passing the football and general knowledge of much more complicated schemes....it's not to close.....prime mahomes would be the best....allen is the best current nfl qb and is a better roethlisberger...but you have listed the top 3.im kinda talking 10-15 deep

stafford comes from the class of manning Brees so he is an example of a player in that era playing today except he is 40.......40....possible league MVP..says it all

You could add Phil Simms as well.

And?

History has shown how valuable this is and how stupid old NFL was for ignoring it.

Which is a distinction that doesn't make them better, by itself.

wut

The NFL is much more complicated today, especially on defense.

Did you miss my comments about Dak?

What again?

Matt Stafford was born in 1988

Peyton manning was born on 1976

Mahomes was born in 1995

Putting Stafford with manning(and calling him 40) and not Mahomes is something only dumb enough for you to do

And has more in common with Brady, Manning, Warner, and Brees than he does Allen, Mahomes, or Jackson. Stafford is a pure pocket passer.

Who gives a flying frick? He is from a completely different generation. Burrow also doesn’t have much in common with Lamar and Allen. You want to count him like he was born in the fricking 70s too?

70s D with 2000s passing...the last Era to compare before the "modern/modern" NFL was re-imagined.
