He will play about 5-10 minutes for about 42 games just to keep him game ready.

Then in the 2nd round they will unleash him to play

Hibbert

And then the conference finals to face

Noah

This season will be the one the Heat make a run at Chicago's 72 win regular season record (not saying they will break it, just saying they might). They will be the 1 seed IMO, leaving Chicago and Indy playing each other in the Eastern conference Semis. Miami gets the winner. JMO

This move is being overhyped, the guy won't stay healthy. It's a reality. And even if somehow he did, it's been so long since he could stay in form that Joel Anthony is a more imposing interior force.

I think it's unlikely he comes back healthy, but the same thing was said about Grant Hill and Žydrunas Ilgauskas. Sometimes these injuries take a guy out forever, and sometimes they disappear.

It's far from a "reality."

Though I do agree the move is being overhyped by many. It's extremely intriguing though.

This is the best move for both parties. They can gradually nurse oden back to playing shape. Oden has zero pressure. Anything of value he adds to the team will be viewed as just a cherry on top. For the heat, they just signed him for the vet minimum, if he gets hurt it's not that big of a deal, but if he can stay healthy look out. The real question for the heat is if d wade is going to continue to be a pussy and come up with a losers limp 75% of the time.

No shot at making the run Imo. If anything I think they lay back and keep people fresh. They made a run last year and it almost cost them the title. Hopefully Indiana can take the next step next season and put them down for good.

I am assuming that is Ilbaka. Did the Rockets sign Ilbaka and Duncan? Wow that is impressive.

Miami will win another championship with this fella. Oden has all the talent in the world, and I just have a gut feeling he will stay somewhat healthy enough to do work for the Heat. 3 out of 4.

We will see. I really think Lebron wants to put his name up there with Jordan. The heat breaking that record does that now IMO. The big thing this does is allow bosh to be effective as a finesse power forward. Now those 10 to 15 foot jump shots are a monster weapon because you still have an inside presence when he steps out. Lebron and wade don't have to crash the boards when bosh steps out now. Oden just. Needs to be a Dennis rodman like center and the heat become a much more difficult team to deal with. Now lets see if he can do that.

Ray Allen isn't getting any younger.
Shane Battier isn't getting any younger.
Udonis Haslem isn't getting any younger.
Dwayne Wade isn't getting any younger.

They are not breaking the 72 win season that the Bulls accomplished.

And frankly, I wouldn't be surprised to see either Chicago or Indiana get the #1 seed.

I highly doubt Oden starts 10 games for the Heat.

Chicago had the best record 2 straight years with Rose playing.

Indiana gets Granger back, and they REALLY improved their bench; also resigned David West.

Brooklyn got an all-star team (of old dudes).

Yes, it wouldn't shock me at all if Miami wasn't the #1 seed for teh playoffs.

Entirely possible. My thing is the guy is only 25 and has had a long damn time to finally heal correctly. Add to that no one is asking him to carry the load, just to be a role player. I think it's fifty fifty on that. If he is really healthy the heat will romp this upcoming. Indiana Chicago and San antonio would no longer be even close to the bad match ups that they were when Miami beat them anyway.

I don't think it's possible to get younger, unless you know where there's a fountain of youth.
