well it seemed pretty medicore last night, especially compared to OKC.

They easily could have had different microphone placement though.

Like I said, OKC has to be taken with a grain of salt.

you're saying OKC pipes in noise of people cheering?

Its actually pretty common practice. The seahawks do it all the time

Yes.

Not even trying to vilify them for it. Like WCA said, it's hardly exclusive to them.

Also, like you said, mic placement plays a big part. Did you happen to notice how much quieter Spurs games started to sound after the game where some chick was screaming right into one?

They absolutely do, it's pretty obvious. Their PA is also set way above the league standard. Multiple franchises have complained to the league office about it.

Their crowd seems very subdued. They sit most of the game. They need PA prompts to start chants. And they're given noise makers during the play offs.

OKC doesn't play rap at their games and in Memphis we get a bunch of middle-aged white people to chant "Whoop that Trick"

Advantage Memphis

Plus Tag Team performed "(Whoomp) There it is" last night at half time.

If chanting rap songs is all it takes then the Lakers got that covered. We had 90k+ going word for word with too short at the 2009 championship parade

I was just telling my secretary how funny this really is. I saw some old man in his mid-60s wearing a Gasol jersey over his business attire, waving his growl towel proudly and attempting to dance to "whoop that trick". Only in Memphis

I might be sexist because I hate Doris Burke announcing games solely because she's a woman.

You know, for such a tough/physical team, Memphis sure does flop. A lot.

I don't know what the frick Allen was doing down there.

It's miraculous that he recovered that quickly! Just in time for the dunk!!
