. Would you agree if the residence was abandoned the student athlete should be eligible?
on that one yes.. but there are two other issues.... which I am not going to get into unless someone else brings them up.

Look the LHSAA is light years better than the previous regime(s) that bacically created and left us with the split.... enforcing rules is not always popular especially when most of the people bitching(including many in the media) don't know the rule or all of the facts nor do they want too.

so because a dad gets fired - all rules go out the window>?

You tell me. Does the kid attend the original school if his dad isnt an employee, in this case actually a coach? So the kid wasnt considered "recruited " when his dad was an employee there, but the kid is now ineligible because his dad lost his employment and he didnt want to continue attending the PRIVATE school that fired his father? And it's only happened because he wore a jersey of another school?

You see, you're missing the point. The kid going to Hanville isnt the issue. The issue is unrelated.

A kids father was fired and to play sports, LHSAA FORCES him to play for the ex employer of his father

You have some people on this board, who are screaming "them's the rules", completely ignoring the fact that the rules are idiotic, nonsensical, and stupid.

The only way this is ever going to change is for some schools to start their own association. The LHSAA has essentially a monopoly on high school sports in this state, and they can do whatever they want.

It's a principal's organization, I guess, supposedly, that's to give it some sort of credibility and insulate it from the dumb jocks.

Perhaps it's time to widen the membership to both principals and athletic directors? Or is there some other constituency that might be better?

I find it sadly ironic that these same principals who walked all over Eddie Bonine when he was trying to keep the playoffs together, now, they're suddenly like "welp, them's the rules and E.D. Bonine is just followin' the rules..."

It would be easiest if LHSAA just put out a description of the ruling with the rules that were violated. Is that allowed?

So Atwell called a couple colleges recruiting the boy telling them he is a low character recruit and not to recruit him. This guy is a real piece of crap.

Link to WGNO’s report, the above is in this video.

The thing that gets me is they told him he could play if he went back to Vanderbilt.

So you “broke” rules making you ineligible, but if you go back all is forgiven? No big deal?

And people wonder why the split happened.
