Cig was on Saban"s staff, never promoted

It isn’t common to be promoted within staff. Most people move on.

If anything, it seems there was beef between Saban and Cristobal based on their interactions on the pregame show/Gameday, though it was probably just banter.

Picking Alabama over Indiana was dumb. They were dogs and played awful football against Oklahoma and had the W handed to them with horrifying TOs and fluke plays like a punter dropping the ball. Meanwhile, Indiana eviscerated damn near everyone and was coming off a win v tOSU, beat Oregon by 2 scores on the road and held them under 300 yards, and Alabama couldn’t run on anyone.

It’s Saban, he’s going to pick Alabama.

He’s not a celebrity guest picker, he’s an analyst and should pick as an analyst, not a homer who has emotional ties.

the pick is meaningless. It's not that deep. Did he offer actual insight into the match-up. I'm going to guess yes.

Saban said on one of the Gamedays apparently that Cig was "too arrogant"...

Okay, is that why you didn't promote him at Bama beyond Ace Recruiter for YOUR own glory Nick? Don't remember Nick ever passing around the accolades to his Staff that made it all happen.

I don't know what Saban or Alabama did to you, but I'm sorry for what happened. You got to get over it though

He’s a tv star on a pregame show. He’s essentially playing a character. He’s going to play up to his tv persona. His character is the college football coaching legend who is going to call 99% of games how he sees it but go with his old school.

Stop thinking shite on tv is supposed to be for anything more than generating ad revenue and the clicks that come from social media engagement.

Sounds like you should be getting your analyst picks from ESPNews.

Not sure why anyone even cares about Gameday picks other than some bragging rights at a tailgate.

There is none. Curt isn’t much younger than Nick.

Curt was playing at qb when his dad gave Nick a job at WVU.

No beef there, Curt was in a now or never moment due to age. Thats it

You think Nick Saban picking Alabama generates ratings or ad revenue? GTFO. Herbie doesn’t do that shite, and Ohio State is by far a bigger brand than Alabama, with a bigger home market, vastly larger AD, and more valuable brand. And he never did it before the ESPN split either.

It was a dumbass pick for an analyst, put himself on dumbass Desmond Howard’s wavelength, and he made himself look like a homer boner after they went out and got humiliated. He didn’t pick them for clicks, he picked them because he thought they would win.
