If Tech manages to somehow beat UGA. He will absolutely have a strong chance. But I don't see that happening anyways.

Let's get their coach...frick GT

It's such a weird situation.
Their schedule is garbage (dodged all of the top ACC teams, p4 ooc opponent early was Colorado) and their record would be mediocre otherwise so he isn't getting near the credit he deserves.
If they had a tougher schedule he'd still be putting up the numbers because he's just that good, but the team would be on its way to 6-6 7-5 and he still wouldn't get the recognition.
Actually I may be understating it. They would probably be worse because I'm not sure they don't lose 5-6 plus with this schedule without him
He is single handedly carrying that offense and their defense is trash
The game they lost to now 5-5 NC State he threw for 408 and 2 TDs and ran for 103 and 2 TDs

I’m curious to see what Gunner’s stats would look like if he played at GT. As for Haynes King, we’ll see if he gets an invite to New York.

Gunner had 5 total TD's(4 passing/1rushing) and only 5 incompletions against Texas Saturday.

Stockton is surrounded by 5 stars just like Sayin.
Haynes is literally dragging his team to victory week in and out. They dont have alot of talent

And they’re not playing against a lot of talent so it kinda levels out…

This season. King has started 39 games in his career.
Stockton has started 11.

Listen, I’m a Tech guy and a big fan of Stockton thru family connections. He and King are very similar and both are legit. It’s hard to judge because Stockton is surrounded by an All Star team while King has some solid 3 stars and 4 stars. If King had played against Gardner Webb you could add 400 passing yards and 4 TD’s to his total just like Stockton will have against Charlotte this weekend.
Both should be in New York for what they have done for their teams. But I doubt either one will because of bias. They’ll have Mendoza because he’s BIG and a couple others. Meanwhile King will win us the ACC and Stockton may lead his team to the Natty with that defense.

Stockton is surrounded by the following:
5* WR Zachariah Branch (transfer from USC)
4* WR Noah Thomas (transfer from Texas A&M)
4* RB Nate Frazier
4* RB Chauncey Bowens
4* TE Oscar Delp
4* TE Lawson Luckie
3* WR London Humphreys (transfer from Vandy)
3* WR Dillon Bell
Unranked RB Cash Jones
The only other 5* talent on the offense at the skill positions are true freshmen who have either barely played (Elyiss Williams, Ethan Barbour, and Talyn Taylor) or haven’t played at all (CJ Wiley). Barbour and Taylor have missed significant time to due to injury.

What about the OLine? Are they all 2 stars?
Posted on 11/17/25 at 7:54 pm to RunningJacket
Starting OL:
4* OT Earnest Greene
4* OT Juan Gaston (true freshman)
4* OG Dontrell Glover (true freshman)
3* C Drew Bobo (first year starting)
4* OG Micah Morris
5* OT Monroe Freeling
Most all of our 5* are on the defensive side of the ball. This is arguably our least talented offense by experience/recruiting ranking since 2017, Kirby’s second year. The success they’ve had is testament to 1) Gunner’s play and 2) Mike Bobo calling some really good games

Key isn’t leaving but I’d be surprised if Faulkner isn’t coaching at a lower level P5 somewhere.

You can dream all you want, but Key is at his alma mater. He's not leaving.
Now Faulkner OTOH.....

I grew up with his mom in West Monroe and she was a all-state softball player so he has some good genes.

He’s very fortunate in that this year may be the most mediocre crop of QB’s in recent times. It’s literally anybody’s game.
