Considering the Falcons had never been to a Super Bowl, I think there was a decent split for neutral fans. The Dirty Birds were popular too.

As a Saints fan aren't you leaving one out? The 2006 Saints. Historically awful franchise with exactly 1 playoff history makes a run to the NFC Championship a year after the city is destroyed by Katrina

Eh…Bears had sucked for years too. Like 1998, I think most fans were happy there was still new blood in the NFC after the usually suspects ran things for years. As a kid, I was conditioned to think Dallas, Green Bay, or San Francisco was going to play in the NFC title game.

The few Bama fans I know wouldn’t even say this was their best team. Claiming 2020 is laughable…even the Lakers and Dodgers fans agree.

Indiana is getting way too much hype. Miami can definitely beat them.

Indiana will not have a 90/10 fan advantage this upcoming game as well.

Pretty sure I was on my way back to Okinawa after being on leave for the holidays and was holed up in a hotel in Detroit due to flight delays and watched that game.

I’m a huge fan of JH as a coach because of the grit he displayed as a player.

That was such a fun team. He didn't even begin that year as the starter, they threw him in because Erickson sucked and he took them to their first playoffs since the 80s.

If anybody hasn't seen that AFC Championship hail mary, it's at the end of this:

EDIT: NFL being dickheads again I see.

Indiana isn’t invincible. They got lucky to escape Penn State with their backup QB and interim coach.

Had a close game against world power Old Dominion too.

They can be beaten.

Miami matches up from a physicality standpoint better than any other team they have played.

However, Miami looked banged up and tired vs Ole Miss late in that game. I wonder if they have enough juice. IU hasn't looked tired the entire playoffs.

I agree. I always expect the less desirable outcome no matter how unlikely it seems.

On paper they can, but Miami makes a lot of mistakes and that can pile up really fast against a team as disciplined as Indiana. Just ask Oregon.

2019 LSU almost lost to Texas and Auburn, but by the end of the year they were firing on all cylinders and at that point were pretty much invincible. I’m not saying Indiana is equivalent to that team but I’m trying to say that momentum is a powerful thing, especially in the postseason when you’ve banked thousands of reps and your team is clicking and annihilating supposed contenders with ease.

The trouble with this scenario is that Indiana won’t win by less than 20 points. My money is already on it on FanDuel.

Both of those teams are significantly more talented than the ones I mentioned.

Auburn had an NFL D line and an All Pro DT. That Texas team was loaded too. We also never trailed at any point in the 4th quarter of any game. Not true for Indiana.

My head & heart say Indiana wins in a blowout. My gut says it's one of those games where Indiana comes out swinging, wins everywhere but the scoreboard, controls win probability throughout the game, is on the verge of closing it out a dozen times but just can't, and Miami steals it at the very end.

Either way, no way Indiana gets punched in the mouth.

The Tom Watson debacle was a letdown for any nongolfers watching

Damn this unlocked a bad memory. I'm glad Phil got his PGA at 50...Seeing a nearly 60 year old Tom Watson win a major would have been unbelievable.

I'd also add the 2010 & 2014 USA World Cup round of 16 matches. Both were grade A buzzkill
