re: Is Bama in a win or go home situation today?

So Alabama should be penalized for making and losing in the SEC Championship game while 2 loss Oklahoma and I guess potentially Vanderbilt (depending on today’s chaos) get in?
Yes, they should be penalized with a loss. They also should be rewarded with a win by moving to the top of the 2 loss teams. It really shouldn’t be this complicated.

So you play the top 12 teams in the country, lose 3 of those and you don't belong?

Committee says that conference championship games shouldn't hurt anyone, and they should already be in plus have beaten their opponent on the road already. They have nothing to gain from this game and are being forced to play.
Up until last week they were behind both ND and Miami. They only jumped them for barely winning over another 5 win team.
Don’t tell me the committee had them in before. They were moved up to cover for the committee with the ND/Miami conundrum.
According to Bama, a bad loss should eliminate you. OSU had more wins, more top 25 wins, and a conference championship, but because they lost in OT (not by two TDs) to ISU, they didn’t deserve to be in the BCS title game.
They have no business in the playoffs if they lose the SEC CG. Enough with this BS.

But that's all bias, any team with three losses doesn't belong in the playoffs.
PeeJ should I go look up your thoughts on 10-3 Auburn being left out for 11-1 Alabama?

Not as bad as you wanting a 9-3 bama over an 11-2 SMU last year

It’s Bama. They’d try to slide them in with 4 losses if they could. Of course they are in with a loss.
Alabama has been the last team out 2 of the last 3 years. Facts don’t care about your feelings.

All the Bama Stans will say they should be in even if they lose. But that's all bias, any team with three losses doesn't belong in the playoffs.
So you were happy 11-1 Alabama got in over 10-3 Auburn a ways back?

So nut up you big leaking pussy. You set the precedent of being allowed to stay home and benefit

I’d also need to go look at my take from last year to know what I was thinking. I’m not typically one to root for Alabama over literally everything, including fairness. And I usually just take the rules that others set up and use those to argue my case for Alabama.

If you are willing to REWARD a team for winning the game, you must be willing to PUNISH a team for losing the game.
Can’t have it both ways
Can’t have it both ways

No, we said that shouldn’t happen

ETA: Pride, if you scroll long enough to find out posts from this time last year and the years before, can you send me a link? I’m interested to see how my stances change based on the year, committee criteria, and the teams on the bubble.
I must say, you’re not providing an ounce of context to your accusations. The makeup of the teams on the bubble plays a massive part in this and you’re out here acting like Alabama is the only team out here.

They're not gonna drop them out for losing the conference championship to a team they already beat on the road.
Posted on 12/6/25 at 10:44 am to ReauxlTide222
You missed the 1 threads a day on the sec rant saying it would be an injustice and ruin the SEC champ game forever made by bama fans?

They should not have lost to a terrible FSU team. The system is what it is THREE losses is THREE losses. Every Bama fan would want Bama to jump any other team that would lose in the SECCG. Fact.

I did indeed miss every one of those

Idk what game it was, but Miami should not have lost the game that bounced them from being able to make their own conference championship.
Mind you, a terrible fricking conference.
Hear me out. Miami entered a game, knowing they couldn’t lose it and control their own destiny, and they lost it.
Why does the FSU Alabama game hold more weight than that game for Miami? Why aren’t you saying “Miami shouldn’t have lost ___ game?”
ETA: Why does “well they shouldn’t have lost ___” only apply to the team getting jumped? Can I use your magic sentence against the team you want to jump Alabama and then we’re on even footing again? Left to debate actual real points?

But they’re still getting in with a loss. Sorry
