Can’t stand anytime he opens his mouth, on the court or off it, but he is more than deserving of being the all time scoring leader and good for him.
I can very easily separate the person I don’t like in him, and respect how great of a basketball player he is.

Too bad most people here can't do that. And it's really weird how it's very focused on sports figures. 99% of the music and media figures and artists should receive the same amount of hate but don't. Sure, there's some. But for some reason athletes get so much of it.

Lebron would have scored a lot more if he played in the 80s/90s like Jordan b/c of their shite defenses

People view this era with nostalgia but rarely go back and watch games. Do it. They're on Youtube. They suck and are obviously inferior quality than today's game of movement, shooting, and passing.

And please don't think hand checking would eliminate the advantage that being unable to double Lebron would create. And SERIOUSLY don't act like the NBA was more physical then, when talking about Lebron and his body type. Cheap shotting a 210-lb MJ is one thing, but Lebron is bigger/stronger than the bigs you are imagining would hurt him in your head.

*ETA: This doesn't make Lebron better than Jordan. I'm saying this argument is shite.

It’s not. But when you walk around thinking you’re the greatest when majority of fans and players don’t, it’s sad and funny.

Every professional athlete thinks they are better than what “majority of fans and players” would say they are. It’s part of the mentality that makes them successful to begin with.

The only thing sad is other grown men who are so miserable with their own lives that they get some fake schadenfreude from their own illusions that Lebron’s career has been anything less than remarkable and historic.

MJ in an interview literally said that when he would leave the game, that he would like to think that he was the best to ever play.

Meanwhile...LeBron played against WAAAAAY tougher opponents in the biggest games of his career...WAAAAAY tougher!!! Its not even a debate...

And yet MJ gets Detlef Schrempf, Jeff Hornacek, Dan Marjele and Craig Ehlo....i mean that's two different worlds of competition. Imagine even ONE of those guys being able to touch MJ like those guys were allowed to in the NBA Finals against Lebron...mind blowing people still find something to hate about Lebron's career. GOAT!!

And let's be clear, MJ did this in the 80s when he was the Lebron of his era in terms of historical ranking.

It’s pretty awesome largely no one cares about this and it isn’t being celebrated.

Nick Wright had a comment I saw in a clip someone shared that essentially said this and compared it to how big of a deal this would have been If Kobe would have been the one doing it.

I think it has a lot to do with it not being a surprise. People knew he would break it this year, just didn’t know when or that he’d be playing this well.

You sound racist, and dumb, which generally go hand in hand.

Funny how you don't mention Gary Payton, or Byron Russell, or Joe Dumars, or having to finish at the rim on guys that could just sit there and wait for him since illegal defense was never called with Patrick Ewing, Anthony Mason, Charles Oakley, Shaq, Shawn Kemp, Rodman, Laimbeer, Ostertag, Malone, Antonio and Dale Davis, Rik Smits, Robert Parish, Alonzo Mourning, Mutombo.

Oh no, 6'5" Draymond Green is playing center. ahhhh what will i do?

this shite right here didn't work in the 90's.

He's not the 2nd best to MJ.

Chamberlain is.

He's probably in the top ten, but there's quite a few that were much better than Lebrum.

Still not even close to MJ level.
Anyone who says either player is better and "it's not close" basically just outed themselves as not being able to have a rational discussion about the 2 players.

This. I’m a big lebron hater but the record is still very impressive. MJ is still better, as if that really needs to be stated.

Meh, not even paying attention to it so probably won’t know when it happens.

I’ve never seen an athlete totally destroy his brand and ostracize fan bases like LeBron. There was a time, especially his first run with Cleveland, where everyone was super excited about what he was doing and he was universally loved.

Then “The Decision” turned off some folks, but I think most people still kinda rooted for him and the Big 3 in Miami was fun to watch.

The the return to Cleveland was cool and he finally was able to bring that city a title.

Sometime soon after that he decided to get political and spout dumbass opinions non stop. By the time he went to the Lakers, and even more since then , his likeability has just dwindled.

I loved the Kobe Lakers and am one of the millions of Lakers bandwagon fans. So you think Lebron going there would have been great, but now I root against them.

It’s just crazy. He should be a case study for future stars on how not to be an a-hole,
