Hey what was the deal from a couple of weeks ago on Rebelmania where people were warned not to post some letter?

The head of BR Officials wrote a letter to Mrs. May about the announcers calling out their officials during the WM-Barbe game. He said he reviewed the film and the refs only missed a few calls.

Everyone be on the lookout for a live stream tonight. I'm about to watch the OCS stream shortly - link is in the Monroe paper today.

Since this thread is about WM: I was just reading up on WM's history, more specifically their state championship history. Apparently 1993 was their first one and we all know they've been back on the reg since then. What changed in 1993 to make them so dominant?

Not only was that their 1st State Championship but it was the first time WM had ever won a district title in football(co-champs with Ouachita) and it was WMs first ever home playoff game.

The only reason I haven't wished for a sinkhole in the middle of the field during the 2A and 5A games is because it would frick the Saints over too badly.

Don Shows, Casey Sanders, and Jerry Arledge are what happened.

has Shows been there since 93? Just seems crazy to me that they've basically been in a talent rich area for a lot of years and it took them until 93 to jump off, even with great coaches.

Any team with Sanders employed as S&C coach would be in the thick of it within 3 years of his arrival. Truth/

but I was basically fishing for some other reason besides good coaching. I mean did they realign the districts/zoning or something allowing WM to legitimately acquire more talent than the other local schools?

Shows got there in the late 80s. They had talent back in the 70s and 80s but the city of West Monroe really grew in the 90s, making WMHS one of the largest in the state. Shows and Arledge brought college coaching experience and implemented it in high school. Arledge watches just as much film as college coaches do which is one of the reasons his defenses are so good. Shows made football something WM was proud of thereby bringing out all of the athletes roaming the halls that would not normally play ball. I know when I trasnferred back to WM, I wasn't playing football. Shows literally pulled me out of class telling me I needed to show up at practice that afternoon.
Coach Sanders brought a S&C program that was unknown in high schools at the time. My sophomore year we had 5 guys squatting over 600 lbs and would have had another but he hurt his leg in preseason practice.

Dude, chill out. You've already made your feelings known. Now stop embarrasing yourself.
