While everyone is on the bash ULL train, I will first say I don't hate them and pull for all LA schools when not playing LSU. However, they have Louisiana on their unis and stadium and nowhere does it mention Lafayette. If I were ULM I would be kinda upset.

ULM knows who they are and do not have the inferiority complex of our rival Cajuns. It is an issue that they use LOUISIANA as a name, not just ULM but for all of the Louisiana universitys. The media in Lafayette promotes the name as do unsuspecting sports outlets.

It's like mocking a midget who claims not only to be a giant but the greatest of all giants (THE Univ. of LA, #1 ranking in a baseball poll, etc.)

Actually, it has more to do with the Cajun fans that have been coming on here beating their chests ever since the Cajuns beat LSU (in half a game) and now reality checks are being handed out.
ULL fans hate LSU for several reasons: LSU is more popular and successful, this causes ULL to have little man syndrome.
Ever since the Cajuns made one little appearance in a CWS, certain Cajun fans have been beating their chests ever since. As a result of that, several LSU fans started pulling against them.
