A boxer with a handful of fights would be fighting bums and journeymen with losing records, while getting a few hundred to do it. Not an Anderson Silva and million dollar checks.

Lol at people debating this. Anderson is taking a paycheck to take a dive against Jake Paul and nothing more, as the last several pro fighters to fight him and his brother have done. Anderson will lose this fight even though he’d frick Jake Paul’s face if he were actually trying.

Don't know why I agree with you but I do. Silva is no joke in any version of combat sport you want to talk about. Paul has impressed me surprisingly but this is a different breed of dude. 47 isn't really that old in this day and age. Hopkins fought very well deep into his 40s. Some guys are just different and an "on" Silva is one of those guys.
Having said all that, with what we "know" about the current state of sports and these type of events specifically, the fix is in. No way Paul takes this without guarantees. It's interesting to say the least.

I flat out laughed at that statement. I did some boxing in the amateur ranks as a teen and when I saw Rousey shadow boxing I just cringed. Then she takes on Holly Holm and gets destroyed in under 1 minute into Round 2 and then follows that up with Amanda Nunes who brutally KO'd her in under 1 minute in Round 1.
Then there were guys who were saying Rousey could give Floyd Mayweather a run for his money and actually believing it. Seems a lot of folks drank the Rousey Kool-Aid back then.
