The whole Eli deal was really misconstrued
True - Eli did not want to play in San Diego but without the Rivers trade Eli still would not have been able to dictate where he ended up

Has no power like Eli did.

He should thank god/budha/whoever for any team that takes him.

Guy had 1 season, with a great OC, stud OL, and some stud Wr's. Let's get real.

As a life long Bengals fan I don't think Burrow is the answer. Trade down to Miami and sure up the oline and get the parts you need on D..maybe a WR as well. Win 2 games next year and draft Lawrence

I don’t care who drafts him dude lol.

It’s funny that you mention that scenario though. What will you do if they do draft him and they run woodshed over the Aints for the next decade and change?

So this dildo and other media assign their own fabricated meaning to facts in order to create "speculation" then are "shocked" when Burrow's father says there is nothing to the MEDIA CREATED speculation.

Let's recap:

quote:

First, former Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer said the Bengals weren’t serious about winning Super Bowls

Ok. Carson is entitled to his opinion

quote:

Then, Burrow hired Carson’s brother Jordan Palmer to train him this offseason.

And? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Carson and Jordan are two different people, right? The above statement doesn't discuss JORDAN'S opinion, right?

Oh, but we have Burrow directly saying he doesn't want to play for the Bengals, right?

quote:

Then, Joe himself said he wanted to play for a team “committed to winning Super Bowls,”

Wait! What? A QB prospect saying he wants to play for a team who wants to win championships? What an unbelievably novel approach! I mean, who the hell wants to play for an organization who wants to win?

But those working with Joe are saying the Bengals should consider trading the pick because Joe doesn't want to play there, right?

quote:

Then, former Bengals wideout T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who is also working with Burrow, said they weren’t disparaging the Bengals but that they should “strongly consider” any gigantic trade offers they might get.

Ahh. There it is. A hint the to the Bengals through Joe's camp. But just for shits and Giggles, lets see what TJ ACTUALLY said...in the context in which it was said:

quote:

“We’ve talked about it. We’re not going to say anything negative to Joe about the Bengals. Why would we?” Houshmandzadeh said. “Teams are bad because their players aren’t good enough. If they get that player that’s good enough, guess what happens? Your team isn’t so bad anymore. I’m sure that’s what they’re thinking. I’m sure that’s what Joe thinks. Negative? Not at all.”

But TJ really doesn't want Cincy to draft Joe.

quote:

He said if the choice was his, he’d make the LSU quarterback the top pick. And yet, . . .

“Do I want to draft him if I’m the Bengals? Yeah,” Houshmandzadeh said. “But if the Dolphins are going to offer me three first-rounders, or if some team is going to offer me two first-rounders this year and a first-rounder next year, I have to strongly consider it for the good of the team.”

So let me get this straight. The Bengals shouldn't at least CONSIDER a trade if someone offers them a ridiculous haul in exchange for the #1 pick?

This, ladies and gentlemen, is how the media CREATES a bullshite narrative based upon NOTHING but statements taken out of context and/or assigning meaning to a statement that doesn't say that at all! Even for an industry who is largely full of shite and whose credibility is shot, this story is an incredible reach

First thing he needs to do is tell his old man to mind his own fricking business.

Don’t need a Ball daddy telling him what to do, that’s his agents job.

Cinci was 2-14 with 7 losses decided by 7 pts or less last year. If Burrow is at least a one TD upgrade over Dalton/Finley, then that same rosters goes 9-7 and probably makes the playoffs.

They also get back Jonah Williams and maybe AJ Green.

It's not even Burrow's comments

The media has been wishcasting this since before the SEC championship game, it's the weirdest shite. Why do they even care?

Brees was also a veteran
The Saints completely overhauled the roster
They had a helluva 2006 draft
Brand new coach

Also, the Saints weren't horrible before the 2005 nomad season

When was the last time the Bengals were a legit threat? Super Bowl 23 under Wyche? Ownership has ruined everything about this franchise since.

Yeah but his dad made it to the NFL and has been around college players his entire life. How many other players have that luxury? It's priceless.

Except his GF is from Cincinnati and Burrow was with a realtor looking at houses in Cincy last week.

Cincy is a good place for him. They have talent, just not a good QB.
