Now do organizational structure, lack of scouting, analysts, etc compared to the majority of nfl franchises. But hey they have a few average young WRs so it’s all good.

If we're comparing the Bengals to the Patriots or another very successful franchise, of course that would be better for Joe. But most of the other franchises in the top half of the first round suck because they have incompetent coaching, front office, ownership, etc.

Redskins
Giants
Lions
Chargers
Cards
Jags
Browns
Jets
Raiders

All these organizations have pretty serious issues, IMO.

Fortunately, great players have a way of making bad organizations look good. Winning often begets winning. Let's hope that's the case for Joe.

I can’t blame him for saying no to the Bengals. The Bengals aren’t serious about winning. They don’t even have an indoor practice facility

Sounds like Joe just wants the right system in place around him and he’s using the ecosystem in place to systematically put himself through the NFL’s system of dispersing players to new teams. It’s quite interesting watching Joe’s systemization of the draft process.

Say system one more time

Palmer has said, numerous times, that it is the organization, not the players, who are holding the team back. They have the smallest scouting dept. in the league, about half the number of analysts the rest of the league has, the only team in the league with no practice facility, and on a personal level, players are restricted to a set number of protein/gatorade/etc drinks & are then charged if they go over that number. The owners is long known for being the cheapest owner in the league. That is what Oalmer & Joe are referencing when it comes to a commitment or lack of same. And from all accounts, i.e., his wife, it is the media seeking her husband out, not the other way around.

How many additional protein & gatorade drinks do you think it would take for them to win a Super Bowl?

The fact that they are rationing that shite out like it’s the Great Depression or Soviet Russia is the point

Parents should never be interviewed about this kind of shite. Nobody learned with LaVar Ball?
No.

The Burrow's are learning from the examples of the Manning's, The Williams' sisters dad, Tiger Woods' dad, etc. (all those athletes are set for life)

Do you think Joe Burrow would have landed at LSU without Dan and Jimmy Burrow?

Shysters ALWAYS want the parents the hell out of the way.

There’s a lot more examples of overbearing parents stealing from the talented kid to be fair

With no oline and no weapons he could end up just like the last LSU QB to go first overall. People blame JaMarcus for being a bust but he wasn’t put into a position to be able to succeed.

Pretty sure it was Housh that said players were lent jockstraps and that if a player needed one for practice or a game they got to choose one from the used pile. And that the Bengals were the only team that didn’t rent hotel rooms for the players the night before home games

Oh shush
Sure the raiders were a dumpster fire but he was notoriously lazy

quote:

The Oakland coaching staff would routinely give Russell DVDs featuring gameplans and new plays for him to study. The coaches started to suspect the rookie wasn’t doing his homework and came up with a brilliant plot to test him. One day they asked Russell how he liked the gameplan on the DVD they had sent him home with the previous night. He said he did, but there was one problem: The coaches purposefully gave him a blank DVD. Their suspicions were confirmed.

He came to training camp out of shape and overweight

Are you seriously contending that parent's record of misusing Athlete's earnings come close to that of crooked "financial advisors", agents. and attorneys?

You must be kidding!

I really don't think you can lump Jimmy Burrow in with crooked or inept advisers. Not even close.

And Jimmy has been in the football profession for decades. Has professional contacts in every area of the game. And has a network of friends and colleagues who can help him on any question.

Again, the shysters ALWAYS want to get the athlete away from the families. The true professionals have no problem working with families.

And Jimmy isn't Joe's agent. He arranged to have Joe sign with one of the most prestigious agencies in the business.
